Why do I never have an assault class??

In realism mode I never see an assault class available for me.... There actually is no physical "assault class" to choose from.. Is it because I'm a raw recruit or what? What do I have to do to get the assault class unlocked??

there's a limited amount, you have to wait until someone who's playing as an assault soldier leaves the game or changes his role. Also if you join a game as soon as it has started you may be able to pick it yourself before anyone else does.

I mean I don't even get it as an option on my game...

is it grayed out? or the name doesn't even show up?

because if it's grey (as if it was locked) then it's just that the class is full

if it doesn't even show up i'd recommend that you check the integrity of the game files, because your installation may be FUBAR

It sounds like maybe your computer just isn't very fast. Those who load the map first often take classes like assault or marksman. You can still take advantage of the battlefield promotions to take your favourite class, though.

It doesn't even show up at all!! There is nothing that says assault class on axis or allied side. I didn't buy the deluxe edition so I don't have the mkb42, i have to unlock it. But how can I unlock it if there is no assault class for me to choose?

...or pick up weapons off dead people. Then you can be about any class you want to be.

Oh, you can't see it at all? That definitely shouldn't be happening. You have a technical problem. Try and see if verifying the cache works.

On some maps in classic the same thing happens to me, no option at all!

It only happens to the Assault class.

i think server admins can turn it on or off.
some want rifles only, you should check multiple server and try some empty server with bots.

No I don't see that.... I've only seen that on action modes and maybe once that I can remember on a normal server.

And at the person who said I might be playing on rifle only servers....I play on most of the popular 64 player ones and I'm pretty sure they don't restrict the class. 2Fjg or whatever it is called and UK Clan server etc.

pretty easy to tell. there won't be any guys with smg's in a rifle only server. you don't even have to see them to know. you'll hear them shooting. dead give away that you're the only one missing the assault class option.

I know the 2FJg realism server doesn't deactivate the assault class. I'm not sure about the classic server though (haven't played on it in a couple of days and I usually don't use the Assault). I would recommend checking your cache if it trully doesn't show in your Role selection window.

I have no assault on realism and action too, only on classic. I assumed it was supposed to be like this for some reason.

I do have elite assault who use assault guns (the mp40).

99% for me they're always taken, I mostly play as rifleman, just pick up dead peoples guns if you can.

agreed.. you should check the class selection screen when someone leaves the game or you die..

this thread has absolutely nothing to do with the class being full when you try and pick it. it's about it not being there at all, for the guy to pick assault.
