KF fails to start (again) OSX

Every major update OSX (im on 10.6.8) receives prevents Killing floor to launch. I want the new delicious content but every time new stuff is released I have to manually delete .ini files and lurk forums!

Iv gone through the usual drill of deleting the KillingFloor.ini file . . .
(User >library >application support >killing floor > System > KillingFloor.ini)

. . . But this does not work. The KF splash screen appears, the icon bounces in the dock but then they both vanish as usual.

Come on Tripwire fix this occurring problem,

I discovered I can only connect to a game through Steam's server list. (Steam > view > server) Once im in game I can then disconnect and go to the KF main menu, everything works as usual here. However every game I connect resets my Perk Levels to zero, now no one wants to play with me as I have been relegated to n00b status! Iv reconnected to the game using the console and reset steam but this is ineffective.

I guess OSX players are Forever alone! :'(
