Default World War I in Colour:

Since the mod Iron Europe have been planned for RO2 and I've been looking forward to its release, I figured I'd share this with others in here, which was shared to me by a fellow member in another forum today.

It's not World War II.... but for those interested in an era which I highly doubt anybody here has ever seen first hand, this documentary has brought in a lot of information on what WWI was all about.

And the fact that they spent the time to restore the footage in Colour is simply impressive to say the least..... I couldn't do anything else but to share this with the community:

World War I in Color, vol.1 1/3 - YouTube

^ This just gets me even more interested in what Iron Europe has in store..... I just hope the mod hasn't been forgotten

Though now that I look at their site and their forums.... it seems like it died shortly after RO2's launch, which is a damn shame.

The mod is on hold due to lack of time and other things going on. I used the phrase cryo-freezing because cryo-freezing has a success/failure ration that varies. You may never wake up, as the mod may never wake back up.

It's not dead, just don't expect anything new until it comes up..... or doesn't.

So yeah
Chances are we won't see it ever.

The World War 1 in Colour Documentary is also available in german, all 6 parts in full length.

Der Erste Weltkrieg in Farbe - 5. Chaos an der Ostfront - YouTube

Even the eastern front in colour.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a bleak future for the mod.

In another time and place, I would have jumped all over this mod and offered anything I could do to make things move ahead, but with work & family, I hardly have the time to work on my model for RO2, let alone play the game for a full match..... Let alone work on a mod.

I hope there's some guys out there with experience that can step up and offer their services to replace the guys who no longer seem to care.

I remember hearing the devs had some hard times like the above when starting off RO as a mod & there was a lot of shifting around.

After looking through this documentary I'm pumped to give the WWI battlefield a go with those innovative weapons & equipment.... Not to mention the history & horror that went with it for average young men who had to experience it.

The potential, innovation and experience would go hand in hand with RO.... And there'd be so many battles, weapons & countries to pick from, it would be friggn Epic!

I was also looking forward to this mod, but after checking up on the site every couple of weeks for 6 months and not seeing any updates, i gave up on it. I found this game being created, you could check it out and maybe even preorder it to get into beta and help the creators out. http://www.thetrench1916.com/
