Pure and simple, I've had times where I think about getting a game but I'm not sure about it, the reviews might be allright but there might be other factors. Figured i might as well make a thread dedicated to these moments.
I'll start. Should I get command and conquer 3: Tiberium wars? It looks good, has good reviews and all that but there's a C&C 4. I normally never buy a game that has a sequel as it mostly means the sequel is a more polished smoother version of the previous one. However it seems C&C 4 is ****, no resource managment, no base building, more like daw of war. Not that that style of games are bad, infact I've been playing Dawn of War 2 these days but I guess it's a poorly made game as the reviews are harsh on C&C4. So should I get it? Should I close my eyes towards C&C4 and pretend it never existed or is C&C3 not really worth the trouble, anyone with similar rules of gaming? |

If you like oldschool RTS games I think you could do a lot worse than CnC3. Particularly with it on sale.

As pointed out above, if you like old school strategy games, I recommend it.
Should I get Arma2 Combined Stuff for 30$ I really want to try that DayZ game, even if I know I will only play it a few hours once and then forget it in my collection... only to replay it later... It would also take some time away from RO2 AND I think there should be a summer sale at some point...

Hey Permo, DayZ is a bit of fun to play but you are best off using ARMA two for what it is meant to be used for; tactical gaming. Hook up with a NA unit that plays with a style you find to be fun, most good units are no pressure places so if you just want to stop on in and play and not join they should be cool with that ( the guys I play with are ).
If you feel like it stop by 7-75th.com, We're a slightly more serious yet non roleplay unit. ( none of that "yes sir" BS ). However as a ranger unit we do train off of the actual US rangers handbook. Some other units are more roleplay focused ( yes sir this yes sir that ), rank usually matters a lot more there. There are also less tactical units where you can all run around in the formation we call the 'gagglef**k' which is basically a mob of people running around killing things while all staying close enough so that friendly fire chances are higher, and one grenade kills lots of people. There's also lots of units which go one step down from that and spawn lots of units on the maps that cannot combat air vehicles, then use air to annihilate them all... ( There's a unit info post area of the Bohemia forums which has lots of unit info so you can do your research ) One word of warning I would offer, anything ARMA 2 requires attention span. If you can't stand playing a game for 2+ hours then ARMA might not be for you. One small note though, some people have problems with the steam version of ARMA 2 CO. So if you can find a D2D or GMG deal on it, go for those instead of the steam deal.

Should I get Skyrim with The witcher 2 or Skyrim with Max Payne 3?
1) The witcher 2 is longer than MP3 2) MP3 will drop price in a couple of months probably, The witcher 2 probably won't 3) The witcher 2 and skyrim are somewhat the same genre so after skyrim I might be bored of fantasy RPGs for a while. Edit: maybe Arma II CO to try out DayZ. Last edited by Crusher; 07-13-2012 at 05:12 PM. |

Skyrim and MP3. Mainly because witcher and skyrim are very similiar in gaming style, but if you realllllly like that style, then get skyrim and witcher. IMO, I like variety just in case I get bored with a certain game style. My question. Dark Souls is on preorder. Should I preorder it, wait till it comes out and get it near winter sale, or pass up on the gamec completly? Kinda want to preoder it so that I actually have it, and because its slightly cheaper to preorder it, rather than buy is as it comes out. In about a month, I go back to campus for another 2 semesters of classes, so I might not have enough, if much, time to play it. Thats why I think I might wait til the winter sale. Anyone know if the game is actually good and worth buying, or is it crap and should be passes?

I would wait till Dark Souls gets released. There has been some very mixed stuff coming up with this one. It might end up being totally broken.

Sounds like a plan to me. Thank you ![]() Smart choice. Ive been playing skyrim after getting off work, and it has been so much fun. Its so much better in its mechanics than Oblivion. However, my only gripe is that the high graphics make it a pain for my computer. IDK its exact specs, but its able to run the game on low graphics perfectly, and without any visual distorting. I think I have the res at its lowest, but I have the fading stuff up'ed a bit, the texture at high, and that anti-something (its what makes things like leaves and grass, sharper looking) at 2 parts. It doesnt seem to affect performance, so I dig it.
