Default show range of the kill + kill weapon to both killer and killed

I think this is a nice extra thing if added to the game. If you kill someone from say 176meters with a bolt action rifle its a skillful kill lets be honest. And that might be seen by the one who got killed + the gun.

I think this is already including in the game, at least sometimes after death you see range: ... m at the bottom of your screen, but far from always....

Not in all modes please don't. That would help reveal the shooters general position. And that we don't really want.

if you only include the range and the weapon, what does that matter 100m in a 180 degrees circle....

haha :P my fault lol

I mean 180 degrees oversight. The further away the shot comes from, the harder it is to track down the spot, or it has to be one building in a desert or something :P

I agree with Sarkis, it would be a weaker version of kill cam, so no please (maybe as a server option, but default off)

Or remove the kill distance + remove the weapon zoom

(nobody would miss the zoom, because you will believe you have done a big shot and hit a enemy far away like it was in RO1 and other games without crazy zoom)

It is not an idea that proves beneficial.

no, this would ruin things for snipers, and basically everyone who ambushes.

i brought that idea up last november. i really wouldn't mind if they took away the zoom, if they removed the kill distance. i just would get really mad to know, that long shot i just made, was only 150 meters.

why would it make any difference at all to snipers, or least of all, people who ambush?

the snipers/ambushers are usually camping from a small set of pre-determined locations, and people will be able to quickly guess where the shot came from if they have a range. You can see this already if someone is ambushing from close range, you hear the up-close BANG (or s/mg sounds) and you have their location before you hit the ground.

You might as well say 360 degrees since you can be flanked / attacked from behind sometimes.... it also depends on if you're facing away from the enemy or towards, so 360 sounds about right.

But still, I'm not a fan of this idea of them seeing the distance, especially when you have many players familiar with map layouts. Based on distance shown, I could come to the conclusion that I was shot from the top floor of the German's Radio building on Pav's House, then come back to take them out..... it would be similar to the kill cam.

If you want you can take a screen shot and send it to your victim after the match

I'd miss it, so you don't speak for me.

Because if I've snuck up and am shooting them in the back from 10m away, that's much more of a give-away that there's someone flanking them. (that's why I try for head-shots so that they think I might have sniped them from far away, rather than shooting them in the chest which is behind cover from most directions)

this basically. Headshots masks which weapon you are using

if they get shot in the head (oh, it might have been an enemy sniper)

however if they see it was done by a pistol they know someone's in the building.

Showing range to both the killer and killed would make this a problem.

This idea would work as an aid. It would ultimately make it easier for the player to figure out where the shooter is located. That's why I don't think it's a good idea. Other than being an aid, I don't see the reason to have it.
