Default Suggested game mode

Hello, I think a good game mode for the ladder would be Realism with Classic load out.

Edit: changed to Classic load out instead of level 0

I don't know how exactly realism with classic loadout works, but IMHO there can't be any kind of rank and weapon bonuses. Everybody must have the same abilities, with not a single effect for being from rank X. Ranking systems have no place in competitive events.

Can there not be multiple game modes allowed? I'm not very familiar exactly with how the ladder works.

Personally, though, I know that if I'm watching a competitive RO2 match in the future, I am going to be far more awed by the rifleman who makes a brilliant long-range shot in Classic Mode than I would be impressed by someone making the same shot in Realism Mode, but that's just me.

A full new game mode, don't think its really viable when this can easily be done via server options(Custom).

There should be different game modes, not to each liking.

Classic is just a joke imo, it has nothing to do with realistic gameplay more to please campers, if I run in RL you think I am out of breath after 25 meters with bullets fired at me? And also to get back my breath has to take 15 minutes? It is what the forum players wanted and got, Realism is the way to go, if it has classic input no problem but not with the BS running.

To have exciting games you need a dynamic game style not only please the 4 year old vets that wanna sit in a window clicking left mouse button.

Now you see that is my opinion and so there are others, I hope there will be different game modes so each can play where they want.

If they fix the running then I am ok with classic.

imo classic mode is the way to go, but with longer and more stamina (does that make it realism in classic mode???)

why cant we make a poll about it and vote?

The OP simply mention the classic loadout, not the full game mode. This is due to the fact that classic's loadout is fixed(No upgrades, no weapon bonuses) and removing 'random' variables are a must for competitive gameplay. Lets not turn this thread into another classic vs realism debate; None of us know exactly what the ladder game options will be, but lets focus on the topic at hand.

Classic mode, but with disabled stamina and sprinting works best for CD gamemode.

My experience with competitive RO2 so far is that the bolt action rifle is rather useless, so I think that should be one of the things considered when choosing settings.

The slower movement of classic should make the rifle a bit more useful right?

From my point of view, the best way would be "CLASSIC" or "REALIMS".

The games would be perfect for 25 vs. 25, but we know that this is impossible, as it was in the Red Orchestra Otsfront. I submit that is 16 vs 16 (would be perfect) or 12 vs. 12, but NEVER less than that, the games of 8 or 6 players lose all the essence of the game, not created the concept of battle maps.

The gameplay propose the Territory since CountDown is boring, so fast..

While I would personally say Classic, I'm going to suggest Realism with Classic weapon loadouts (perks/levels off).

I think it's easier so accommodate realism to our needs then classics, but I might be wrong. Anyway I vote for realism with classic loudout. Would prefer it competitive and on pubs.

Tbh for determining the game mode i think it would be best to setup a voting system for individual clans. Logically you need staff for fast based actions, rule changes and interventions. A council by default is a very slow organ, but is in my opinion best for adding new maps, and changing rules where its more deterministic of preference than ability to fairly compete.

In public votes you get votes from a lot of people that do not play competitive at all. Or from one clan that finds an issue more important an additional inducement. Thats why a representation of the opinion of participating teams will likely bring the best outcome.

Imho, Sniper and bolt action in realism become a very stupid class.

Stamina is ok in classic all the class have now a position on the map, and we don't see more Rambo-Mg (ok sometimes) or pll with 1kg of lead in his body run like a fawn...

I quote myself, Classic is the way.

This is true. Competitive scrim experience in Countdown thus far suggests that all those wonderful squad leader slots in Realism get taken in matches purely for the semi-auto rifles. Meaning that an 8v8 match consists solely of four squad leaders, one commander, and three assaults versus the same on the other side. Occasionally, one sees a machine gun very rarely.

If not Classic, perhaps Realism Mode with Classic's loadout and Classic sway? I'm just a big fan of Classic sway, and I'd love to see some real, skillful shooting in competitive matches, maybe some real firefights. Scorched Earth had no real firefights--rifle duels lasted all of one or two shots most of the time, delivered within a heartbeat. Lethality is just all too high in Realism.

Classic mode. It's the closest to Ostfront, and we all know what ladder carried that game and for how long.
