Peoples servers keep dissappearing from server list for no reason and its 1 out of a million who actually gets it to show again, And you can clearly see a big problem here where i took screenshots from steam server browser and ingame server browser..

There was a client and server update. The in game browser will only show servers of the same version number as your game. The steam browser will show all servers regardless of version.

I've updated the sever but it still wont show up. What command shows the server and game versions? People are able to connect with console and steam.

Im not sure how to explain this so people stop saying "update server or fix your something" Its a known issue between server owners and it keeps happening on a daily basis.. Im not entirely clueless since im a GSP..
Its somekind of bug of somekind just look at all the posts about the same problem and most of them happened when NOT a server patch have been released. |

Can you tell me what your GameVersion= is in ROEngine.ini on the servers that aren't showing up in game?
The clients and servers should now be 1.1.0.5

What ports are you using?
Gametracker is not showing your server. I've tried to ping the server. Both are coming up empty. |

Our server says version 1.1.0.4
It has always updated fine. Steamcmd says it is up to date. Here are the commands we use: login (our account) force_install_dir (our directory [incase it got changed]) app_update 212542 Steamcmd then says its up to date, but looking at gameengine.ini shows 1.1.0.4 Then I tried app_update 212542 validate Didn't work So we reinstall the whole server from scratch. Now its 1.1.0.5 and shows up on browser. ![]() So is something wrong with Steamcmd? Is it not updating correctly? Last edited by greenlemonade; 06-08-2012 at 02:34 PM. |

We run 2 servers. They've worked before in the past. We've got one of them up and in server browser: 24.231.213.2:7783
The other one can be connected to with console but we cant get it on the server browser since that update: 24.231.213:7826 All the ports are forwarded: 7826 and 27064 The version is 1.1.0.5 Just wont show up. I hope it does on its own. I will post when it does.

My advice would be to backup/rename/copy the config files (not the defaultxxxx.ini's) before doing the update. (get them renamed or out of the /config directory). Then restart the server to let new ones regenerate. You can make any changes needed to the one's just made.. It could well be that RO is not updating properly or it is not overwriting existing ini files. (I thought I read somewhere that the purpose of one of the patches was to avoid having the game get the version number from the .ini files. Perhaps I mis-read it). **edit** with regards to the ports, with the old engine we had to use specific sequences of port numbers. I don't know if that is still necessary.....I'll see if I can find that old post. HERE it is....don't know if it still holds true for RO2....specifically the last paragraph http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...34&postcount=1 Quote:

Not sure. We had both servers running just fine and showing on the browser prior to the update with just the ports mentioned forwarded.
I run 5 killing floor servers on the same IP just fine (but using the crazy old port forwarding system you posted ![]() Im seeing that Tripwire only has a ton of Action mode servers up and VERY little of anything else. It looks as if they are having the same problem, yes? |
