So he was on bath salts. It's really quite hilarious the stuff you can get legally (salvia too) compared to the banned psychoactives.

Huge problem with it here in Maine. It's sold in most smoke shops around here. The reason it's legal is it just hit the streets about a year ago. The US Federal government is really slow to catch up on these things. Maine already banned them but it could take an undetermined amount of time for the government to get their **** together.

Are you saying that laws should be based on common sense? That's ludicrous.

Default bath salts

These "bath salts" are what you would call Research chemicals. They are legal designer drugs that almost anybody may purchase because there is little documented information on said chemical.

I don't see the government being able to stop this much like the current war on drugs. the 2-c family became popular a few years back and now there are around 15-20 different 2-c in the family and even a 3-c family starting.

Here's some more:

In all seriousness though, it really makes me wonder if this is just a rash of similar crimes, or if people have always been eating each other this often and we only noticed now because zombies are so popular...

Ironically, outlawing salvia would probably increase its popularity.

Regulating morality and personal habits through legislation has never worked and never will. The last thing we need is to start outlawing more substances.

Besides, how many deaths due to alcoholic induced rage happen every year? Are we gonna outlaw that?

I don't get how people hardcore about "guns don't kill people, people kill people" (which I totally agree with) don't see the hypocrisy in turning around and wanting to outlaw every psychoactive substance. How about we judge individuals for their actions rather than criminalizing everything. Don't forget the US has the biggest per capita prison population on the planet and it's not doing a thing to stem the tide of drug use.

Countries that have relaxed drug laws have funnily enough seen a drop in drug use: See Portugal.

If you want to give the drug cartels more profits then sure, let's outlaw it.

Hear, hear. Wars against substances and tools (not to mention concepts) are equally ridiculous. God forbid you hold those who misuse them accountable for their crimes as individuals.

**** I actually dreamt about a zombie invasion last night. It seems it wouldn't be all that fun if it would happen irl.

Maybe it was a vision of the near future!

... Same here, I was trying to get out of Montreal in my Jetta full of food and didnt make it thru a flood of zombies... I ended up spinning in circles outsite of my car with knives in my hands and failed to survive... wook up at 5am thinking I overslept...

Damn all them zombie movies, zombie propaganda...

To add on the topic, I am wondering if the cop did the right thing to shoot the guy...

In reality, he shot an unarmed man. In the other, if I was in his shoes and brainwashed by Zombie movies, I would not want to get close to that "possible zombie" (even if it's just an unfortunate dude on drugs)

The cop shot him because he was in the process of taking somebodys life. Theyre not just going to stand there and let somebody commit murder. Imagine being that cop, walking up to 2 naked dudes and one of them is tearing flesh off the others with his teeth... youre just going to stand there and ask him to step away? Or are you going to try to get into a confrontation with a f*cking physco? in which you dont know if HE (the face eater) or the blood hes covered in could be HIV+? If he bites you or scratches you..youre f*cked for life.

They couldve tazed him yes...but thats a temporary way of forcing somebody into custody. If the dude was handcuffed hed still act twacked the f*ck out. Remeber this face eater, still CONTINUED to eat the face after he had ALREADY been shot ONCE!

im glad the cop shot him...the cost of 2 rounds of 9mm is FAR more cheaper than the cost of keeping his pathedic self alive in jail for the next 60 years.

For a man to eat some other guy's face, it's clear that he isn't himself, I would be curious to know what kind of person the face eater was before taking whatever drug it is he took.

I don't disagree with the cop shooting the zombie, I probably would have done the same...

I just think it's sad for both the victim and the dead guy (depending on if he had a criminal history or not)

I don't know what this fad is lately on criticizing police who shoot an unarmed person, but it's really screwed up. Just because a person doesn't have a weapon doesn't mean they can't endanger someone, commit arson to personal property, or commit murder.

The guy in that video needs to be careful. If he did that in the rural parts of my state (Maine), there is a good chance he would have been shot.

Daniel O'Brien from cracked.com wrote an interesting article about the late "Zombie apocalypse" phenomena that appeared after the event you guys speak about.
