So far, i did not ever get further than A as a german on Grainelevator on classic. it feels like a meatgrinder, and i got spawnkilled a tons of times too. Any tips on this map for the germans?

Im still a noob, but the use of smoke is really key in this map.

The only tip i can give you for the first 2 cap zones is the following. Dont run if you dont have need to. Safe your stamina for the parts of the area you really need to cross fast. Oh yeah and also try to put down smoke cover if you can or move when there is smoke.

Get your MG's covering the Grain Elevator main building and the roof of A from the spawn area's upper floor, smoke the front of A and push-up as a group on the right hand side. Work your way through all the buildings, shooting the Ivan's in the back, never step-foot on their side of the objective. Then gradually relocate the MG's to the left side of objective A with a number of troopers to help clear it out. Get the MG's set up to cover the back of B and crush the enemies reinforcement waves. You should have A by then.

To get to B, smoke between A and B, as well as the whole front of B. Keep your marksman back to cover the Grain Elevator main building and move up half your team through the construction site, clearing it out on the way, and the other half to the front of B under the cover of the smoke. The MG's should remain where they are to cover the advancement of reinforcements. Grenade the buildings of B, get in there and cover the doors. Send the squad from the construction site down to B's right side and have them cover the front of the Elevator's main building as well as the tracks to the right. If all goes to plan, you'll have it soon enough.

The other objectives are fairly easy enough to get to, it's these first two that are a real pain (In classic and realism).

Of course, this is under perfect circumstances, assuming you have a team that follows orders and the enemy team don't come up with counters against this battle-plan.

I was fortunate enough to be on the Russian team during Niklas' meatgrinder experience. We have all been there; I can only say that the Russians were sharp and the Germans all over the place. You know how it goes down...

I am not sure if this still works in Classic mode, but this 'trick' of mine is so easy to do and will result in you being in B cap almost every time if you do it right. Every time I play Grain, I wonder why B cap is so hard for axis, because I end up in the cap so often, just waiting for the team to catch up with me. Of course, this is not all you need to win the cap, but it helps to actually be in the cap in the first place.

First, put smoke down in G6 and G7 grids, by entering the A cap from the left hand big blue doors, and throwing the smokes out the other side.

Wait for the smoke to build up, then run out, to the iron girders stacked not far outside those doors, turn left and go into the bomb crater just to the south of B - you will be in the cap right there.

You can then wait for the allies to come to you to clear you out, or throw your nades over the rim of the crater and clear some of them out too.

Try and get a SL and TL in the building with the ammo crates at A. This will allow them to smoke the approach to B constantly.

Always use spawn 2. Too many players think the detour from spawn 1 through the gate house to the abandoned warehouse and finally to conveyor tower is actually the way to go, but in reality you will just have to go through several welldefended chokepoints.

Instead use spawn 2 on the far left flank, enter gatehouse (not that difficult, since you got cover through buildings all the way), throw smoke between gate house and conveyor tower (or get your SLs and Commanders to do so), and the smoke has to be placed as close as possible to the stairs where the allied emerge from grain elevator. Now you can either go straight to conveyor tower under smoke cover, or instead go up the ladder and through the 2nd floor of grain elevator into conveyor tower (I prefer the latter solution, it is almost always a surprise to the defenders when you enter the tower from there, and you can kill a lot of enemies in the back as they try to reach the objective on your way).

Yes, the Russians will try to hold those windows right across the road from the German spawn building because they want to lock the Germans in as badly as possible. Once the Germans take A and B, they can start going up the stairs and using the top floors of the grain elevator to flank C, and most experienced players on the Russian team will go to great lengths up to and including spawn-camping to prevent that from happening. On some maps, the defender's best position is usually somewhere in the center of the map and the effort is half-hearted until then - this is not the case for Grain Elevator. The reinforcement cut-off that happens later in the map is also a big motivator for an aggressive defense of A.

But the German's left flank is usually sparsely defended by the Russians, because it has a poor vantage of the German spawn, and if you can move there in force and take care of the stragglers, you'll have a foot in the capzone.

as germans caping A isn't the hard but B is what I have instructed my team todo when I play on that map is sit on the edge of the cap behind cover, and the best place for this is behind a Green army truck in between the A and B objectives. you literally can not miss the truck and when you are behind it they russians cant shoot you from the the grain elevator or the B building itself
