Before the GOTY update over steam, RO2 was working fine without any lag problems, but after the update I find that whenever I run or walk there is extreme lag. Everything else I do is fine, but any movement at all will result in a lot of choppiness. Is anyone else having this problem?

What is the setting you have for 'Framerate smoothing' in your video settings?

Do you have the same problem in SinglePlayer as well? Or is it only online?

Its on both. The problems started on online and I checked single player to see if it was my connection.

Few things to try out :
1. Verify the game cache integrity through Steam. 2. Delete your INIs from the Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config folder. The game will autogenerate them when launched. 3. Install the RO2Redist.exe from Steam\steamapps\common\red orchestra 2\Binaries\windows folder Also, post you machine specs. Someone here with a similar setup might be able to help you. |

i have the same problems. terrible jerky performance
![]() my card has 1gb of vram so its not that and gpu load is only 60% ! i have most settings turned down. tried fps smoothing, vsync. tried option 1-2-3, x3 times checked my cpu and core 1 is 100% but others are 60-80% changed affinity and even removed core 1, did seem a little bit better but only fractionally. my specs AMD Ati 5850 latest steam driver 1gb ddr AMD 1055T @ 3.7ghz 4GB ram 1600mhz 500gb spinpoint f1 (quite a fast hdd) windows 7 64bit home all updates thought it might be network but it happens on the first training misson. Its like battlefield 3 all over again ! took months for that to become a smooth gameplay experience and even now it isnt for most, the interesting fix on that someone mentioned was to disable any hardrive caching / memory as it was designed for consoles. I wonder if this is a problem with the engine being angled towards consoles? i remember bullet storm being the same as textures streaming was enabled and messed things up. I think this could be a texture streaming, level loading config issue ![]() basically i just spent £7 on a pile of dingo poop AGAIN. at least with killing floor the game would just crash out to desktop if you changed a config setting but the gameplay is butter smooth. i wish PC gaming could move from the dark ages and get with the slickness of console gaming, we still get all the crappy textures and poor old dx9 but have choppy performance to deal with and DRM. fix please

Did you all tried different video settings ?
Try lowering them (even the audio quality) and switching all special effects (things like hardware physics, try it with it turned "on" and "off"), to see if it's not a specific part of the game causing the problem. If I recall correctly, the audio rendering caused quite a lot of trouble when the game was released. I hope you'll find the source of that choppiness, good luck :x Last edited by Temporary; 05-26-2012 at 12:01 PM. |

im also unable to fix choppy running problem in single player. multiplayer appears to run flawlessly. No matter ive dealt with terrible fps before although it leads to tension and a bad headache.........and there must be some patch coming out soon from tripwire ? right? theres just too many other technical anomalies that i see as easily sorted out. For instance: not getting my fffffin achievments for passing said headache inducing singleplayer levels.

Ok, for me it's gone. I've done a few things, so I can't pinpoint which one fixed it. Things to try:

I tried the same settings you had as well as trying a range of different numbers, I tried 0/0 , 0/15, 15/50, 30/60 and up into the hundreds a bit

Why has this not been fixed yet? Tripwire you are amazing when it comes to support with your games but this is a clear problem that many people have. Though many people also do not have the problem that doesn't mean it should not be fixed! Campaign is absolutely unplayable and Id like to be able to play with the AI for a change. Esp since Practice mode has been taken out and all we have is a campaign that doesn't even work! Its been at least 4 or 5 weeks since the goty update and still no fix has arrived. Yes I tried verifying the integrity of my game cache and yes I tried Deleting my files in my config. As well as uninstalling multiple times after deleting the base file to start anew.
