Got a problem. The update is stuck at 99% and steam keeps flashing Suspended/Update/Suspended/Update etc.

Yep, quite a few people are getting this issue. No known fixes yet.

I dont understand whats going on. I followed the OP directions all the way through and my game works perfectly. Why would other people have so many issues? I didnt even have to delete config files or anything. I just installed through steam, it took about 15 min, after that i started the game through steam and everything works...

Which is why it's a beta test.

Yea mine worked perfectly too. I guess the only thing people can do now is the usual default until TWI works things out: remove all traces of RO 2 from the comp and start from scratch...

Would love to see more than 5 people in the beta so its a proper test. SO please TW fix this!!

I don't doubt anyone did. That was more of just a call out to TWI that their dedicated beta playerbase is doing the unplug-plug-back-in way of fixing things instead of getting any answers.

Straight in for me to (although UK broadband meant the download took nearly 2 hours )

The only problem I encountered was the game crashing when I tried accidentally to join a vanilla server, could get straight into either of the TWB "opt in" servers. Just a bit of a shame about the tumbleweed when I got there .

No probs with the game though - both modes were fault free for me and my new mate Industrius (what a cracking name!!! )

Can anyone who also has the separate beta (not the one that over-writes the main game release, the one that sits along side the main release) confirm that they've got the release-beta working?

How do you have vanilla and vanilla-beta simultaneously?

I think everyone should post their state like this to help tripwire.

If they have.

Separate-beta: YES.
opt in release-beta: YES.
Installed over release or from fresh: FRESH.
Localization: English UK.
Steam language: English.
Steam Server: London UK.
Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit.

Something like that.

As a heads up, due to switching over to the new byte patching system we are now also on the new steam backend and content system.

So we are trying to find out everything that can/has gone wrong with the new system.

Would also be useful to know if you did not have RO 2 installed and went straight to the opt in beta, or if you had or installed RO live first before opting into the beta.

I had both vanilla ROHOS and the Beta. I then Updated vanilla ROHOS to include the Opt in Beta. It downloaded and updated successfully without any problems. That is what I meant.
