Is the action mode even on on any server currently?
Edit: The situation is more like "Panda doesn't eat bamboo because someone placed seafood next to it"

No, the Action mode hasn't been seen by me on any server for almost a week (or two?). I think it was on there at most a couple of days and then only one of the servers.

Well its probably a case of people feeling betrayed with original RO2 release, then after months of discussion and bad relations between playerbase/TWI they announce Classic when the game was already virtually dead. Then we start getting behind classic and start giving TWI the benefit of the doubt and maybe they are starting to get it together and things seem to be getting better. Then they announced a mode incorporating crosshairs and removing free aim..So now we wonder if they actually learned anything from the original RO2 release and if this whole classic mode is just a way to appease their forum base. After which they can go back to casualising their WW2 fps without as much bad press/bad word of mouth.

Some people just didn't want anything to do with TWI after RO2, then they announce classic, then they go back and announce a crosshair mode. Trust/good will from the playerbase was shot to pieces with RO2 release and now they want to put in crosshairs in the "normal" mode, how can you not expect some backlash with this?

Well, they did say it was an experiment, only done in their spare time, that Classic and Realism modes will still be worked on as well as new content, so I don't get how people can be so up-in-arms about the whole thing. They don't have to play it. There will be classic and realism servers open in vastly more quantities than the action mode I dare say.

Besides, the current playerbase are the ones actually playing and enjoying the game (Minus the odd bugs), y'know, it's that thing where you go around and shoot the enemy, rather than sitting on the forums giving off knee-jerk reactions to anything that they don't like the sound of.

The playerbase that shrank so much that it isn't even in the list of steam games on fri/saturday nights..If you go in any server and ask them about crosshair mode you will get the same responses. This is for another audience all together and it kind of spoils the image of RO imo

I haven't played this game in months and I have no intention to until we get light tanks, half-tracks and new or reworked maps to accommodate them. I have no interest in this (frankly farcical) debate over cross-hairs, sprint speeds and the like. The very fact that cross-hairs have even been introduced speaks volumes about the absurd design choices being made for this game. All 90% of RO/DH players wanted were a few large, well-designed maps, an ergonomic interface and more tanks; what we've been given is a choice between several (and counting) pointless game types split between an already sparse player base and absolutely no information on when (or even if) we're getting the vehicles that will actually bring this game back to being able to represent combined arms play.

The point is that RO2 is not the combined arms game its predecessor was (and a brilliant one at that) - that's why you've lost the vast majority of your player base, and adding new game modes, endless polls on minute/specific features and having to download massive individual full game-size betas after every patch is only making things worse =/

They should just drop RO2 altogether, start again, RO3: Ostfront II.

Give RO2 buyers a discount.

I've been trying to play the beta this weekend, but sadly there just aren't enough players. So yes, the beta is dead to me.
Something needs to be done asap.

Bye
