Ramm asked me how I felt about the new MG handling. I love it! And any beta where you shoot Ramm, in the head, with a T34's coax, from behind, while he's unbuttoned, at close range, is a good beta. Sure, nothing had changed about Gumrak to my knowledge, but that was still the highlight.

Still nothing about antilag mutator crashes? Maybe my priorities are out of whack, but I think making sure bullets don't lag massively is more important than the friggin sound a bullet makes when it thwacks into flesh and bone.

Agreed, what is the status on the infamous memory leaks? This game will stagnate and die without user generated content.

Weapon drops in the Mamayev trenches seemed to be dropping thru the map.

However, I didn't see and teleportation deaths either. Even though I got a good laugh out of them, its good they aren't happening.

I am very impressed. Why is this not on the front-page though? When the updates finally do come out the people who have not been following it are going to feel like they are playinga different game.

Yosh, no fix to the server browser? =(
The bug where if there are more bots than humans, the bot number is displayed for both humans and bots.

The Classic mode server met some terrible lags earlier. The number of players went to 30, the ping of everyone was pretty ok, but then we had a lot serious lag unallowing us to to chat, to jump, some players were teleporting etc.

Unplayable.

Agreed. The European server had some of the worst lag I have ever seen in ROHOS this afternoon when I joined a little after 1pm EST, and it wasn't just me.

I jumped into the US server to play with the bots after that...

Indeed, it looks like server couldn't handle so many people at once - everything returned to normal after some people left. Pings looked alright on scoreboard, but everybody (most?) felt the game was lagging terribly. Couldn't even chat or reload my weapon.

Other than that I had one of the best games on Spartanovka today.

Yes I was in the server at the time this was happening. Ping was fine and looked steady, but everyone had more warp than star trek

As someone else mentioned, after a few people left it seemed to calm down and the fun continued. If I remember correctly it was on the grain elevator map.

I hate to bring this up, but I was playing today and realised zoom was back on the MG's (I missed it in the log). I have to say I'm pretty baffled with this. I'm not particularly good at RO, either of them. But today on a server of about 30-40, I had 65 kills with the DP28 in one match. The Germans highest kill score was 25, allies it was 23. With nearly all of these kills, I was using the zoom.

Along with the reduced recoil/kick on the dp 28, I strongly feel that adding zoom to the MG's is a bad way to go. The advantage gained is just too much, so much so that I can spot and kill people trying to snipe me before they bring up their scope.

I was under the impression that 'Classic mode' was meant to be somewhat similar to the experience of RO1, however changes such as this seem to go against everything that 'Classic mode' stands for and should be left to other game modes. It also seems inconsistent as currently you can't do this with any other weapons.

I was so pleased to see zoom (most of it) removed from the MG's, which is why I'm saddened to see it back. Forgive me if I've missed something but this is how I feel, I'm really happy with the rest of the improvements, its just this issue that is bugging me.

Cheers

Keep in mind that this change has been made because people felt that all weapons should have the same level of zoom. It's up to us to test it and decide what to do next, that's what Beta Classic is for.

Apparently no one else cares? I've tried to politely ask for updates multiple times in the past few weeks. Maybe I should complain louder and with more frequency since the squeaky wheel gets all the grease.

I also breathlessly await the return of the antilag mutator and pipe up everytime I see it mentioned, but alas...

Played today after a long break, and Thank God the MG zoom is back! Missed it so much.
Lots of other great improvements too. Really like the new suppression and bullet hit sound volume, as well as the zoom being removed when under heavy suppression (brilliant feature).
Was a bit confused about the enemy spotted system. What are the square markers? Also, the icon still sticks to the nearest enemy (and sometimes it sticks to the wrong enemy, so I hope the sticking will be removed, at least in classic mode).

Now, the only thing I wait for is the client side hit detection mutator (and transports).

Tomorrow's night server has crashed, we had quite a number of people (around 30-40).
