Killing Floor Gold Box - and female character!

Well, here is a reason to give big thanks to Iceberg Interactive over in Europe. We've talked about special editions. we've talked about adding playable female characters - and we've talked about new voicepacks. So, with over 1 million units sold and some assistance from Iceberg, we now have... a Killing Floor Gold Boxed Edition, with an exclusive FEMALE playable character, along with voice work in English, French and German for her. Their full news post is on their website - click HERE. The new edition can also be pre-ordered (for shipment to Europe) on their site. We'll have imports of the box up on the Tripwire Interactive web store shortly, for shipping to North America. Shipments will be sent out, starting on 1 June 2012.

EDIT: Just to make the thanks to Iceberg quite clear - they all love the game so much that they actually commissioned the work to get a female character in game. They did all the voice work - we did some script tweaks and plugged the pieces together. So they get the exclusive box as a thanks. And now, we have the tech in place for us to produce female DLC for the rest of our lives

And, so everyone understands, the box comes with:

• Killing Floor
• The 6 current DLC packs
• 1 exclusive female playable character, with female voice packs in English, French and German

This will be the ONLY way to get that female playable character. For those who already own the game and/or any of the existing DLC, all of those will show up as tradeable/giftable items in your Steam inventory for you to swap with friends or even just give away!

I'm confused... this female character. Existing customers will receive this as a tradeable/gift item. Correct? Does that also mean they can use the model for themselves in the game?

I'ts a bit confusing, please clarify. Everyone who already owns the game will get tradable game and boobies DLC, which can be later traded or activated on self, is this correct?

I'm not gonna buy a whole new copy for female character. Seems kinda disrespectful to hold that back from people who won't buy a new copy. Course being able to give away extra copies and (I'm assuming) later female characters make up for that completely!

It quite clearly states that the gold edition is the only way to get them. But if you already have the game and any dlc and then purchase the gold edition as well, when you active the gold edition you will get the main game and any already purchased dlc as giftable items.

There are going to be lots of people who were looking forward to the female character that will be angry that you have to drop 40ish (listed on iceberg's site for €24.99) dollars just for the character since they already bought the game and all dlc.

This is kinda insulting for fans of the game who put you over 1 million copies. I've bought all the DLCs, gifted 10+ copies of the game, and many DLCs to friends. Now I have to buy a boxed copy of a game from Europe for the female DLC

Correct on the first part. And on the second part, the whole point is that you can trade all the other pieces as Steam items! Oh - and the prices won't be $40 on the US webstore.

No, you don't have to buy from Europe. And the extras are all TRADEABLE...
