Hi,
I just want to remember that there s a sound bug with the steps. I made some tests with a teammate called "Feldgrauer" when we were alone on the twi beta test server waiting for other players. We could reproduce the missing steps of each other when moving toward the other. I said: "Feldgrauer, wait here for a moment, I try to get to you and you must say if you can hear me or not." Whenn I ran around him first, he could locate my steps exactly with his 5.1 audio system and vice versa. Then I moved away from him, so that he didnt know where I was. I walked to him, slowly and fast. He turned around to see if something happens, as he saw me, he turned his back on me again. Then I reached him and was waiting at one meter from him. He turned around to see where I m and said that he couldnt hear me. It s really frustrating get killed by others you couldnt hear. For example when you re hiding in the ditch, using the cover function to duck out for a very short moment for getting an overview, you get killed by something who s coming from behind, jumping into the ditch and stabs the bayonet on you without any noice (Oh, of course, I can hear the bayonet stabbing me). When I asked Yoshiro in the beta game yesterday if there is any chance to get this audio bug get fixed, he told me that it s not possible to hear steps because of artillery or guns in the background. Dont underestimate the human hearing. If there re no tinnitus effects in the game (artillery very close), then you can differ all noices. Only when shooting there should be an interference for lower noices.
When I m talking about missing it always refers to the enemies steps coming up to you. Oddly enought you can always hear the steps of your own team. |
