[Community Tool] RO2 Cache Extractor and Downloader

I put together a little install video to assist some people that are challenged with installing software.
It's nothing fancy and was done in about a minute.

This tool is fantastic! Downloaded all the custom maps today quite easily with this...

For some reason a friend's install of the map downloader gave a very strange location for the map download destination. i think it was pointing to the cache area by default.

i fixed it so it went to

C:\Users\YOURUSER\Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Published\CookedPC

But weird that it happened.

Any further thoughts how to get around the need to run as admin ? This still challenges many people.

Also distribution of this applications, can it get done through steam. Has anyone any idea about this ?

Quick ? .. Does the program check your current installed version against whats on the servers before it sets off to download.. I'm not sure if I just downloaded the whole lot again for no reason or there have been updates to the custom maps and mutators..

Dear God. Seriously, if some people can't grasp the simple concept of right click > Run as admin, they need to go back to swinging in a tyre from a tree!

It can, but you need to be a by steam trusted vendor to do so. Steam doesn't just allow anybody to just use steam to install there home made software. That would be a too easy way to spread an unknown virus or trojan horse. Knowing steam, them the procedure of becoming a trusted vendor will probably be a headache procedure

Yes, you need to be a game developer / publisher or you have no chance.

Hmm, maybe someone should tap TWI on the shoulder and get them to publish it through Steam. They obviously have the relationship with Steam.

Try it again please, just moved the file as our redirect has just been deleted because I have let my main server expire as we can't get any players on anymore.

Hell Soldiers redirect updated, all custom maps are gone, there is only the news Coldsteel b6 (all other customs have to be redone to work on new RO2 version)
