I noticed this map a few days ago, it seemed quite cool, with long ranage combat. I haven't seen any mention of this map, who created this?

Who says the modded/custom maps have to look like Stalingrad?
One of the custom maps from ROOst looks like you are a toy soldier in a giant house. |

By warehouse in Texas, you mean sparsely wooded plains, or... Siberia in the summer! Closer to Stalingrad than Texas

Its a common misconception that the battle of Stalingrad was only fought in urban conditions in the city itself. The fact is the battle was on a wide front over 100 miles to each side of the city.Where they was plains and grasslands and in the summer would have looked a lot like Texas. So Stalingrad maps don't have to be just in the city itself.
As for mods they can be under anytime line in the war.We just needed new modded weapons and tanks so we can have some late war action!

Pro-tip: There's a released maps sub forum over at the level design forums.
You should find 99% of playable maps there. http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...play.php?f=135

* * 02-21-2012, 12:12 AM Hillstorm That's fine, but the fact is the entire Stalingrad campaign included a whole range of scenarios, not just rubble and snow. The approach through Vorenezh and then the outskirts and suburbs of Stalingrad was made in high summer. There were a lot of pastoral scenes and quaint countryside areas because they hadn't been bombed into oblivion - the central city itself is what took a pounding before the troops poured in. And as for ice and snow -- In fact, German troops entered Stalingrad proper in August. The first snow wouldn't fall there for more than two months (in late October). That's also when things really started to grind down, so the action probably wouldn't be nearly as fast and furious after a few weeks of that as the game projects. Soldiers huddled around burning refuse and freezing to death at their guard posts doesn't create as exciting a battle. I do think we should have the battle for Mamayev Kurgan.

Show me a Texas warehouse ? I never seen any ?
![]() Now lots of these factory halls where made of red brick. Not only here but lots of west european industrial areas build around the 1920/1930 where made of red brick. Even the Steelfactory I worked was build with red brick. I used them as reference. Funnny people always come with snow and darkness. The battle took place between 23 August 1942 and 2 February 1943 By the end of August, Army Group South had finally reached the Volga, north of Stalingrad. Unless I missed something and things really changed the previous 5 decennia, august is midst of summer so chances are there would be a sunny day. I scanned some pictures. Germans carrying a wounded soldier i plane for evacuation. late september 1942. According their clothing it seems fairly nice weather. http://www.antigoni.nl/images/pic1.jpg Russian factory workers near one of the Industrial hall leaving to support the Red Army. Seems like a sunny day. http://www.antigoni.nl/images/pic2.jpg Meanwhile I wonder why the fukc I post this ???? Its time i grow up..... Last edited by Drecks; 02-25-2012 at 05:41 AM.
