It would be really neat to add Romanian skins to the German side; don't know how it would implement, but I think it would add a neat element.
Also, maybe some partizan/citizen clothes for random Soviets |

I think there is a mod for axis minor already going, but it will take time, especially if you want also historical weapons and veichles over the skins. If you want to make some skins, you should contact them and work with them

Better to wait for a mod that does it, or indeed do it your self with the SDK and such.

Their uniforms would look a lot like the Soviet ones, I suspect...confusion!

Wow, I skipped reading this thread like 5 times until now. Because I thought it said mama mia Romania.....
Some romanian skins on maps which are in places where there are common with romanians. I would like this. |

it would be interesting to have a country that actually fought the war as axis and allies, depending on who they thought were going to win at the time.

Go for Italy then
![]() Anyway, I think there is already a mod in development for axis minors (can't remember the name, but there aren't many, anyway) I'm sure that, with time, we'll see a lot of nice reskins, addons, new weapons dedicated for factions, nations, sub-factions... just need time and encouragement, nothing is worse for modder than not be encouraged, so go and say you like the various projects!

But Italy didn't "officially" switch sides like the Romanians did. They just had a whole bunch of guys, like 50k, that fought as allies. The "smart" ones!

It was a total mess, could talk about it for long, but the point simply is one: "shameful and absurd every way you look at it"
Romanians, if i remember right, had a sort of coup that overthrow its rightful king with a fascist-like government, strongly axis oriented, after that Russia advanced a lot of territorial claims on Romanian territories, pushing Romania right in axis arms We can say it was "liberated" by the red army (until the romanian people liberated itself from Ceaușescu rule in 1985... ) Also, it had to give ground to hungary, but i can't remember that right atm.Antonescu was arrested by the king, like Mussolini were, with the difference that didn't started a civil war like in Italy, because in Italy everything was made in a rush, very badly organized, without order to the troops (the order trasmitted to the troops was a real joke, unbelievable, impossible to achieve, puzzling, everything but clear and reasoned upon) and most importantly, turning the troops, in a single day, without preparation or notification, against the germans that were often in close proximity if not mixed with them. Simply absurd. Last edited by Lone Rebel; 02-08-2012 at 06:15 PM. |

Nah, guess they were kinda expecting that, the allies were halfway to Italy, and Italy itself was on collapse in about every field. The armistice couldn't have been avoided. It just had to be done properly, not by that wannabe general Badoglio that was merely a puppet in Allies hands, not to mention the Savoia family (the royal family) effort, fleeing from their duties to south italy, instead that caring about their country.
It was okay to surrender, and ask the german to withdraw peacefully from the country, with allies approval. After all, they were in Italy because Musslini asked for them, so, theorically, they would have to leave if asked. Hitler probably didn't shared my idea

Without history knowledge, all our past efforts are useless. So I do my best to learn from the past, in my spare time. History isn't just "what happened in 19..." it's also what happened yesterday, or three hour ago.
Like on this forum, knowing that AT rifles got a bug, is history, and is usefull to know (lets you avoid to call an enemy tanker cheater because that like i did this thuesday )Oh, it's also good for almost every aspect of your life. It just takes time, but on the long run, you get repaid pretty well, imho
