I dont know if this is news too anyone or if its been mentioned , but with Hitler too a greater extent leading the third reichs war...there may be some question marks as too why he made such irratic and catastrophic decisions

Battle of britain ended with a win for GB. The germans left gb from
that point. I think if germany had pushed through that they had won the won against GB.

I strongly suggest everybody read Michael Citino's great histories of the wehrmacht: "The Wehrmacht Retreats", and the "Death of the Wehrmacht", in which he argues strongly through many various examples in North Africa and Russia that the German Army was never able to develop an effective defensive strategy-- and consistently relied on an offensive strategy of a war of movement & encirclement-- even when it marched to its destruction by doing so.
They are excellent histories that go much past the layman understanding. |
