i'm a casual gamer i guess must be getting old ...

Weapon unlocks shouldn't be included, but I would still prefer that they have the weapon progression from RO2.

Dev here - I am afraid we are not in a position to say anything definitive about unlocks.

Sorry about that.

bummer, i hope you guys agree with us and get your way. RO2 should have the unlocks removed, but thats another thread

imo it's not fair to the people that dont have hours on end to unlock stuff ...

yeah hopefully no unlocks. because lets face it, it might work for MW games since there are realistically 1000 different doo-dads for your gun. but in a ww2 game, there is no way to implement it without getting ridiculous; as is the case of RO2.

last thing we need is a type100 with a drum mag, bayonet, and an aperture sight...

You forgot the thing for taking the stones out of horses' hooves.

Given that the IJA was world leader in Weapongadgets of disputable benefit that may be nearly historically correct
(I mean, srsly, Anti-Air-Sights on a Typ 99?)

Wait seriously!? Lol... to use, press Z while crouching or prone next to dead horse on map...

It is true that the Japanese were somewhat gadgety--bayonets on the Type 100 and their LMGs, monopod, terrible dust cover, and AA sights for their rifles...

EDIT: One suggestion... maybe weapon cosmetic unlocks could be scaled the opposite way for the Japanese, with new recruits getting the newer weapons, and more battle-hardened soldiers keeping their older, more beat-up firearms? Given Japanese military culture as well as the supply system, it's unlikely that even an excellent soldier would recieve special access to equipment, and the climate and conditions of most fighting meant that how worn your weapon was could actually be a good indicator of how much time you'd spent in the jungle.

Never mind the cultural aspect behind developing a bond with the weapon or in some cases a rifle given by a father etc., always thought the old beat up firearm should be reserved for higher ranks anyways.

If there are unlocks, I want the tank bayonet, for the no ammo bonzai charges.

Unlocks in RO2 just don't work. Esspecially when half the unlocks in the game either make no difference or a very historically inaccurate.

My biggest complaint on the unlocks is adding the MP40/II (The Double Mag) as a MP40 unlock. This was a prototype that never went into production because it was such a failure. Having this ingame is worse than having the Mkb42.

...you guys are CRAZY weapon unlocks are great, even if you don't have to unlock them the option to use items and equipment that was field issue for soldiers in WW2 is a must for this game and great.
