I have... it looks like a Tiger, but was actually the Panzer IV in Ostfront that blew up into many pieces from the first shot from anything, which is why nobody picked those tanks in Ostfront.

Nice... Never been near a tank myself, except an old Sherman they converted into a decoration in a nearby town. I really should find a war museum around here. Can't complain though, I did get to take a tour of these boats: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Requin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Intrepid_%28CV-11%29

And of course got to see the inside of a Hercules cargo plane and got up close and personal with an F-16.

There are also warmuseums in Germany, Great britain, Belgium and france.

In the Netherlands we also have a navy museum at Den Helder.
I have also been there. But that is also a family matter because
my own grandpa had served the navy before and in the beginning
of WW2.

Last weekend I had another WW2 trip. Visit lots of, for me, unexpected interesting places.

Here some close ups from a Sherman which got a hitter from a German Panzer. Not hard to imagine what happend to the crew. Notice the damage on the other site of the impact.....

Damage on the other side......

Can't believe I didn't know about this place, it's in my country! I need to go visit. How much is the entrance fee? I only saw like a PIII and some other light armor in the museum of war in Delft.

This is lying around on my desk, it's a piece of Zimmerit from a Stug III.

A friend gave it to me, knowing that I'm a history/ww2 enthusiast. He found it from Parolan Panssarimuseo, a finnish armour museum.

Spoiler!

But that thing is real huge.
The panther is also huge compared to the others.

In the future i want to go to england to visit the known museam there.
I have pictures of pretty much every vehicle in the museum at Bovington if you want to see any you can add me on Skype. My Skype name is Helskga, I will happily send you any you want.

Also if anyone else wants pics of anything in Bovington you can add me on Skype or PM me on here. I have about 250 pics, I have been there multiple times and the last time was at Tankfest2011 so I got some pics of the tanks that were on display specially like the Tortoise.

Tankfest is definitely worth going to and if anyone is planning to ever go to bovington I would recommend going then.

So yesterday I visited the Militracks I posted about and used the possibility to have a ride in a SDKFZ 251

My youngest son used his Ipod for some footage....

Driving the SDKFZ 251.MOV - YouTube

Same vheicle passing by

SDKFZ 251 - YouTube

You could get on a Hetzer and T34 but that costed 50 Euro a ride.....
So I only made pictures of these.

That is one snazzy SPW. Not an IS-2, of course, but still pretty slick
