Setting the server to Realistic mode is great nearly everything is good for being realistic as it can be
But, Kill Message Delay is locked to 5 seconds This is not realistic, could we have the option to extend this or remove it completely with only TK's being shown? |

This has been bugging me also. I love the uncertainty, when you see something and presume it is enemy and shoot it. You might hit him, you might not. Is he down? Then you have to make quick evaluation on the situation and the knowledge, if you just opened a hole in enemy defence, just makes a big difference.
Instead of waiting and seeing if a kill message pops up i'd rather not see any messages at all. And same rules for my opponents. Uncertainty is what contributes to chaos, and managing chaos is what combat is about! |

I agree that on hardcore servers you should not be able to see kill messages, only team kill messages to know that you killed a friendly and remind you to confirm target before shooting.
Not knowing if your target is dead creates more tension. We should also remove kill confirmation from our avatars - I often realize that I killed somebody when my avatar speaks rather than by kill messages, so lack of these won't help too much in creating a tension. |

the FK server has managed to turn off kill messages so pretty sure its already an option or if its not ask them and they maybe nice and tell you.

I would like to have a mode where your kill messages would be shown after your death.

In the Webadmin just select "Custom" Realism.
All the settings will default to realism settings unless you change them. You can have no messages, all messages, just your kill/death messages and you can adjust the time dealy from 0 to ~. It doesn't unrank your server. I don't know of anyway to show only TK's. We had a guy swap sides and try to TK a whole room of us last night. With only our DM's showing it was hard to spot. Because of the quality of the VOIP chatter, we were able to find him and dispose of him quickly and permenately. A TK slot in the webadmin would be nice....

It's one of many features that really hinder this game and stop me and many others from calling it 'realistic'. |

But as a test we put it to realism and noticed the health is set to more realistic, there are none of those people shooting when they have been shot and killing you, which is very annoying The game just feels better on realism Thanks though, appreciated |

I run both custom realism and standard realism servers. I play on both. I've shot my share of people when in the throws of death in both, so I really find your statement regarding that hard to believe. And I personally have not noticed any difference in weapons or their 'killing' power (but then I use bolts 95% of the time). Now it could just be me and my mis-perception, but when setting bots to Hero status, it seems that sometimes I have a harder time killing them with one shot. But then other times they drop immediatly, so I couldn't say with any certainty that I am right.

I havent read it anywhere that this is the case it is just what we have felt since switching over, it may be wrong it is just how the game has played since we switched. |
