As some of you know, I have been whining a fair amount about the game's current poor performance. It is only fair for me to be upset when my rig is capable of running unreal engine 3 games at a solid 60fps with little to no stuttering. I've tried just about anything out of desperation, but with no success. Yoshiro has been kind enough to give us early access to the postponed Nov. 2nd patch. I took the liberty of running some rough (and I mean rough) benchmark samples to compare performance differences.
My benchmark methods are as follows; 1. Installed patch 2. Change settings to "Ultra" 3. Use console to open TE-GrainElevator (No bots, No netcode) 4. Select Allies with PPSH-41 and MN Revolver 5. Wait for fps to stabilize 6. Enter match and start FRAPS benchmark simultaneously 7. Perform a 360 turn and sprint through level, being consistent as humanly possible. 8. Arrive at consistent end-point, end the FRAPS benchmark and disconnect 9. Repeat steps 3-8 three separate times 10. Roll-Back patch to previous version 11. Repeat steps 2-9 My results are as follows; Patched Min Avg= 17.33 Max Avg= 48.33 Avg Avg= 36.6 Current Version: Min Avg= 15.33 Max Avg= 47 Avg Avg= 35.6 There you have it folks, the new patch does feel a little bit better to be honest, but it's not the dramatically improved patch I am eagerly awaiting. To be fair, I was not able to play back a demo I recorded, so these are not the most consistent tests. |

Seems to be a negligible improvement, but an improvement nonetheless. What are your system specs btw. I have a feeling that guys with lower end machines like me arn't gonna get any improvement at all.

Can you do the same test on maps that has the worst performance(pavlov, barracks, station)?
Also, if you performed this test "manually", these results does not show much. We need a "timedemo" of sorts to perform better benchmarks. These where common in games in the "old days". Last edited by Skvate; 11-08-2011 at 05:15 PM. |

1. Is it confirmed that this game is more CPU game than GPU?
If so, Arma2 is a good example of amd vs intel -> http://hardocp.com/article/2011/11/0...mance_review/2 In theory you could get 20-30fps boost if you have Sandy Bridge CPU... 2. Have you tried official (not BETA) 11.10 drivers AND 11.9 CAP 4 crossfire profile? I think if you are not using that 11.9 CAP 4 thingy, you don't get any boost from 6870 CF compared to single 6870... http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...n_win7-64.aspx |

A: Are you running radeon pro with bioshock crossfire?
B: What does GPU-z say your GPU usage is when gaming? Radeon pro doubled my fps. ( I still get stutters though )

I play RO2 since close beta (clans beta) and on Sandy Bridge I've never had fps problems. I have mainstream i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz and since retail release my fps never went lover than 60. |

Im asking devs to make this game more AMD cpu friendly if possible, im not interested to move from amd platform to intel just because of this game. BF3 runs perfectly, but that is a GPU game... Tho I haven't bought that game and will not... |

@ Vulchan
Hey dude makes me wonder why Am'I getting higher FPS than you.... I do have the x6 Phenom clocked @4.0Ghz and northbridge is at stock speeds, I got the H50 cooler though, the H70 should be better I guess IDK... Any ways look at my specs its almost same as urs except the 6 core CPU that I have but then RO2 dont use more than 3 cores,so we should be in the same boat right? My settings in game are pretty much 85% Ultra 15% High and this is what I get FPS wise: High FPS: 105 Medium FPS: 50-70 Low FPS: 30-35 Average: 60-80 FPS CPU Usage: 35-50% GPU1 Usage: 25-35% GPU2 usage: 25-35% If TWI can implement DX11 then we can start seeing high CPU and GPU utilization. Dont despare people with I7-2600K and GTX580 x2 have the same problems as you do. seems like utilization problem lies deep in the coding of the game,TWI is struggling on this one....

It's kinda funny how I spend $340 to max this one game out, but it just happens to be the one game I can't run... Maybe your SSD or better RAM is the key to better performance, since those are the only two things that really excel against my setup. |

The SSD dont do squad performance wise,it does load maps few seconds faster than my HDD since I have RO2 installed on it. BTW hail to steam Mover program,I can finally download all my games and be mowing them to the HDD without the headaches and loosing my hair trying to create Junction points.... I just failed in every attempt to do it manually and just lost my patience
