Unknown Steam Error Is Preventing Access To This

So, I'm sure most of you are aware of this error as it has been going on for quite some time now with multiple solutions and causes. As of October 30th, 2011, I joined a Killing Floor server only to find that when I tried to click Select Perk in-game, no response followed, leaving me as a Level 0 Sharpshooter. Upon entering the trader and using my once-per-round perk change I found that all my perks were Level 0. So, I disconnected from the server to check my Profiles & Achievements menu. In prompt of clicking this I was given said error "Unknown Steam Error is preventing access this". Now, the main reasons I am writing this thread is because of do things, one: because most of the threads dealing with the issue are not up-to-date and only offer irrelevant solutions, and two: in hopes that, if it is a bug related to something as simple as TWI correcting their patch, that they will see this and hopefully get on it.

Possible solutions that I have tried in order to get this to work:
Verifying integrity of game cache,
Defragmentation of cache files,
restarting Killing Floor,
restarting Steam,
restarting my computer,
getting a drink and coming back,
turning off mutators,
deleting cache files related to mutators,
updating my Anti-Whitelist,
deleting local game content,
deleting all of Killing Floor and reinstalling,
deleting 'killingfloor.ini'
connecting to different servers,
checking if Steam was up-to-date (it was),
turning off all other programs not related to Steam or Killing Floor,
Right clicking Steam and selecting Killing Floor from the icon menu,
Joining server via "Join Game" on my friend's list,

So far, none of these merit a solution.

Additional information:
Using a Mac running OSX Snow Leopard (inb4 "Lol@mac there's your problem")
Only DLC for KF I have is the Steam Punk character pack

If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know. Also, I'm aware of the fact that you can not use your normal profile while on a mutated server or solo mode, this is not the same thing and is not related to mutators.

I also have this problem, And im using a OSX Lion 10.7.2. Also, it's a mac mini, but I do not know what version it is. Also also, There seem to be a lot of these posts, we need to put them together to fix the problem(im looking at you admins).

I've got the same problem, I tried pretty much everything, still nothing...

Would be very grateful if Tripwire could patch it somehow 'cause the game is useless without perks.

Same problem here. The only way I got it to work was by uninstalling and reinstalling, but the next time I opened it- same old ****. I am still killing stalkers with my bullpup as a habit though. I could be level 6 right now.

Altho you guys can exit the game killing floor and in back in the game again, works for me.. cause in some server they have glitches or maybe our version of the game glitches, i check the cache file everything seems ok.. but i'm not sure how to fixed it properly.... unless Tripwire decide to take care of this problem.
