May be a pure coincidence, but the folowing fixes work for me.
I have had crashes in game since Beta came out. Most were preceded by a quich prrrrrr stutter on sound. This occured in both Win 7 and Win XP.
My Mobo has realtek onboard sound, which installs a sound manager by default. I use msconfig and turn off the manager. Now in game I get the same prrrr stutter, but the ghame does not crash, it happens once, usually very close to start of round or when I join a map, and thats it, until I change server.
So for me at least the crashes appear to be caused by the realtek sound manager.
As a precaution I have also removed my Gigabyty M6800 mouse manager which also loads as default when I install.
Hope it helps someone.
