Wow Szeder, nice sig! I didn't realize you were working on Rising Storm. That bodes well for that project (Revenge of the Turul was awesome). I hope doesn't mean you've stopped working on the T-26 and BA64?

Cheers,

Default TE-Catalagrad

Here's a first look at the level I've been working on which is still a very long way from being playable. It will feature the Germans attacking a village, small city-type area, railroad station and finally a small factory. I got the inspiration for this map while shopping at my local Whole Foods market which is built in an old nut and bolt factory complex. The first picture is looking from German's first objective which, right now anyway, an anti-tank gun, The second picture shows the attacker's view of the same spot. Last is an overview of the village. The small city area will be just past the village and the train station and factory will be just behind and to the left of the city area. The church is outside of the play area.

Try to addd some curve in that road Unlike Unlike modern
cities and industrial areas old villages are often not inline.

And try to elevate your terrain here and there.

Yeah, gotta fix that. Originally that fence was about 20 meters to the left and the gun was pointed more or less right down the street. FWIW, that gun is just a place holder. I have a crazy idea concerning a dug-in tank that I still have to work on.

I'm definately going to work on adding more diversity to the terrain but at least for this village section it will remain fairly flat. The area I'm using as a basis for the map is in a stream valley which is impossible to tell from the pictures I posted.

Thank you for your comments!

God that look awesome. Nice big matches and plenty of time I hope for defenders to setup against the forces. Looks awesome!

That's why I found a different church for my map, but tbh I wish I was using the spartanovka church as the one I have you can't go inside.

It's a bit **** really....

You have to capture the church yard (not the church lol).....doh!

It looks as though I will be releasing my map tomorow to a certain extent.

I am uploading a beta 1 version now which I am going to put on my main server first thing in the morning.

If it plays ok and is not showing the signs of those oddities (missing radios, dodgy spawns) that other designers have experienced recently, then I will pop up some links to the downloads so others can grab it

Will be interesting to see how the redirects hold up as this is 109mb

It is really only going to play properly on 64 slot servers as trying to play it on a 16 or eve a 32 is very hard work lol. I will do different kismet setups for 0-16, and 16-32 player servers very soon.

The map has also been renamed from Volkhovsky to DieBresche as the map never ended up as a forest map, so someone else could use the original name now
