Nope not mentioned. I know you can change it in options/ini file, but what if I wanted to change it mid-game?
Example: I run around with my precious Mosin and take some 200 meter shots with full zoom to surpress some germans far away. However next I have to cap in the building, in here I don't want the zoom on my rifle when I go to ADS. So it would be nice if I can just press M or something, so the zoom gets 0.1 instead of the full 1 zoom.

In this thread only the .ini options are mentioned (which is great though), but I wondered about zoomchange-on-the-fly.

Free-aim in iron-sight is awesome, we're not turrets with co-axial camera's anymore

well you can change those settings ingame using a bind.

Or you just set it at the amount you prefer for close quarters combat, and for long range press the shift (zoom) button.

That is what I use, and it works great.

That is what I used in the beta but shift being a combined zoom and sprint button make it too much of a hassle.

You can split zoom and sprint to 2 different keys:

Interesting, can you provide the bind?

Dunno how to make such a bind, but it is indeed a nice workaround. I am not too fond of the separate zoom button though (extra key to memorize).

If you can tell me how I make such a bind I would be very happy

I found the bind:

Bindings=(Name="Insert",Command="set ROPlayerController IronSightZoomScaleRifle 0 | set ROPlayerController IronSightZoomScaleSMG 0 | set ROPlayerController IronSightZoomScaleBipod 0",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl =False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)

However, it only works in offline mode.

Obviously you should set it to 0 for SMGs because then you lose no peripheral vision while aiming down which is important on short ranges.
Also you dont get fps drops when you need to bring up your sights.

When using zero I also have no problems hitting things
