I think light shaft is a very nice looking effect, but in this game it's overkill. Worst example would be those barrels with fire. No way that such object would create the kind of light shaft you see in this game.
Also natural light shaft is very subtle effect, and even at it's most intense moments it rarely creates a thick beam of light that it does in the game. To be frank, sometimes it looks like UFO is trying to abduct people in the game ![]() Hence I suggest removing light shaft from the barrels with fire and toning down the overall intensity of it. |

There is an option for it, easily visible in, you know, the graphics menu...
I don't think it needs to be toned down, it is just right as an effect, but sometimes I don't want my screen cluttered by effects so I am glad I can turn it off. |

Yeah maybe down the road when they can tackle things like this, I too would like to see the option to tone it down a little.
Right now you just have to treat it like an overdone film effect. It looks great but it's not exactly natural in some cases. |

I don't think the barrels are that over the top if they're indoors in a basement like that, I'd imagine there is quite a lot of dust in there causing that effect. But I haven't looked that closely.
