I was able to get past the splash screen by
i) uninstalling Punkbuster and RO2 (kept RO2 files) ii) reinstalled RO2 in steam went to RO2 directory, located the *.u.uncompressed_size files in "(gamedir) Red Orchestra 2 \ ROGame \ CookedPC" and moved them out of that directory (there are a bunch of them) Game started up no problem I don't know if punkbuster created these files, or if it was even related (haven't installed it again yet) |

Having similiar issue as others. I have verified integrity and found 3 and/or 4 files with that failed. After running it a second time I get 1 file.
I am using a new ASUS G75 laptop that is about 30 days old. I have not tried to play RO2 on this rig. But was able to play it on my last. I bought RO2 today and I have been experiencing an odd issue at startup. Every time I try to run the game, I only get to the screen where it displays the Tripwire logo, then the screen goes black, the "shift+tab" steam community reminder thing pops up at the top left of the screen as opposed to the bottom left as it usually does, and I'm powerless to do anything. It just stays that way. I can move my mouse cursor around so the computer isn't totally frozen or anything, but I'm unable to use ctrl+alt+del, alt+tab, or ctrl+esc to exit out of it. All I can do is force my computer to shut down with the button on it. My Logs folder only had a single, 0kb, empty text document called "Launch". Also, I noticed that it opens the first time setup window every time I try to run the game. Last night I verified the game cache and it found 4 errors, so I re-downloaded the game. Today when I tried to open it, it came up with one of those windows with white text on black background, like command prompt. This window ran a bunch of text (I think I saw a few "warning"s), then the game started. I was able to run it twice. The first time it made it to the "Georgia" screen then froze and kept playing the sparkly noise, but I was at least able to open task manager and close it. The second time it made it to a video of a bullet falling, then froze. Again, I could at least close it with task manager. The third time I tried, however, it told me that the game is currently unavailable because it needs an update. Checked the Logs folder after trying to start the game again and having it freeze. 3 files:

Just a reminder, please post your computer specs when requesting help with running the game. Also, you might try this http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx site to see if it helps.

Bought RO2 recently to play it with friends, but I can't seem to get it working.
Every time I try to launch the game, it crashes. Starting screen appears, after few second it just crashes "rogame.exe has stopped working". I've tried most of the fixes what I've seen by using google, deleting the files I see from log files and verifying them, switching couple false values to true(saw this via google) but nothing seems to work for me. Im running out of patience and I don't want to re-install the game before I know its the only way. Don't think this is an hardware issue, but here are the specs: - i7 3770k - GTX 680 2gb (306.23 drivers) - 8gb 1600mhz ddr3 - Win7 Ultimate 64bit |

Hey Guys. Played a while ago after launch, then had issues. Would get kicked after a few minutes in-game. I figured I'd wait for the bugs to get worked out.
I just reinstalled and now it seems I crash at splash screen. Pretty disappointing as I have only been able to put 16 hours into this game in a year. I really want to get into this game again, and hope this gets sorted out. Here's my logs. I really don't want to sound like an ***, but after a year of issues with a game... The game truly is amazing, and I am truly a fan, but I can't even play it at this point. ![]() System Specs: AMD Phenom x4 955 BE G.Skill 8GB AMD Sapphire 5770 AMD Catalyst 12.10 Last edited by Reststopkirk; 10-24-2012 at 04:43 PM. |
