Default Red Orchestra 2: Africa Korps

I think it would be a good idea to make this. Massive tank battles across sweeping deserts. Tight urban combat etc. Rommel would be pleased. (Note, I don't know how to make these mods)

I've been thinking. Perhaps a small gameplay mechanic addition could be water. If you wait too long to have a gulp from your flask, you dehydrate, accuracy becomes worse (sway increases) and eventually you faint. Of course you also would need to ration your water, to make sure that you don't run out.

Did you play Mare Nostrum for RO: Ostfront?

Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45

Darkest Hour - Version 5.0 Release Trailer - YouTube

Darkest Hour was more popular and more successful than Mare Nostrum. In the end Darkest Hour had some great additions including things like Mortars and Light Armoured Vehicles.

2:14 on the Darkest Hour video is mine and Razornecks map. Poteau Ambush. The guy about to Bazooka the Jagdpanzer IV. Can't wait to start mapping for RO2...

I think Fisher wants to fry eggs ontop of a Panzer IV's engine compartment in the middle of the Libyan desert ...

Darkest Hour and Mare Nostrum are both incredible mods, having impecable quality allmost reaching the quality of Ostfront.
To bad Mare Nostrum didnt have a community formed due to Darkest Hour sucking up so many players.
At least the Red Orchestra Fight Night.PL group has parties in Mare Nostrum regularly, in between Ostfront and Darkest Hour.

If the mods where integrated into each other, the result would be tremendous.

Why is the music in the DH trailer taken from Final Fantasy 8? :P

Bump, sorry for old thread revival

This would be great, Massive tank battles in El-Alamein like in Battlefield 1942
You should try out Mare Nostrum or Forgotten Hope 2 mod for Battlefield 2.

If it has Australian skins, uniforms, voices etc instant approval

It would be pretty awesome I played a bit of Mare Nostrum and it was pretty epic so if you/anyone could recreate Mare Nostrum or make an even better version of the North Africa campaign that would be awesome

Sounds like a plan to me.
Although as a developer on MN, I'd prefer if such a mod is not called MN2, but there's not really anything we could do about it.

Sadly I don't think there's anything that would be reusable from MN for a Ro2 based Nafrika setup, otherwise I'd be happy to get people in touch with people.

I like the idea of a N.Africa campaign, but MN. took a few years and quite a few people to develop it, somehow i don't think that's gonna happen again, especially if nothing is transferrable to RO2, and who knows when the SDK will be ready.
Two years from now RO2 might not have as large a playerbase as RO had when Mare Nostrum was released, people are moving on pretty quickly, so if i was a modder i would be thinking twice about spending a few years making a large mod for a game with few players.

Have you tried out FH2? So far has Western and North Africa campaign, Eastern front is being worked on now.

North Africa maps- http://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/f...php?scenario=3

Well it is a new mod (if someone picks up the idea) and it makes sense to have a new name
