I have the settings on "lowest." Randomly my Vent volume will drop very low and I can hardly hear my friends. Also, my sprint will randomly stop working as well.

It should run like crap on that system, no offense... the cpu doesnt even meet the minimum

Try going into this file and editing this line. Seems to not work or lock setting within the games menu, you have to edit the file.

C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config\ROEngine.ini

by default this is at 32 and I think it has to not like 8 Channel Onboard sounds set at 32.

Do search for channel and this should come up.

[XAudio2.XAudio2Device]
MaxChannels=16

Save file and then when in game you'll see sound at whatever you've set. It actually will change it automatically in 2 other locations within that file.

Find this line and change to 16 or even 8 then test see which works best if at all, strangely enough you can go as high as 128 for a setting. This setting has been tested and has worked for some but not all but anything is worth a try for you guys.

Also try these game settings - Set HIGH. Turn from MLAA to FXAA High. Check Vsnyc if you have a 60hz flat panel. Also check box for Framerate smoothing and check Lag 1 frame.

Hope any of this may help and good luck.

For comparison: Here's my set up

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
16 Gig of RAM Corsair 1600 (800MHZ)
Phenom II 1090T (6 Core) Overclocked to 3.7 GHZ for all cores.
Nvidia 480 GTX
Dell 24" Flat Panel

My settings are all on Ultra, everything is checked that can be, FXAA HIGH down from MLAA and believe it or not I set my Channels to 128 (It improved from 32 channels for getting more FPS)

My FPS is 35-50 and steady depending on the map and where I'm looking.

Everything else surpasses the minimum. And I definitely don't have the money to upgrade. Maybe it was a mistake to buy the game.

Defragging the game files:

Personally i recommend perfectdisc (a free full trial version can be downloaded from raxco).
Yes, did that, no help unfortunately.

Tried this, too, but still under 30 FPS. As always, thanks for everyone's suggestions. Hopefully things will get sorted out sometime!

Game is currently unenjoyable due to the performance.

Just even a few settings on medium and its unplayable (-30 most of the time, complete slide show in open areas). I have to put it on Lowest to get frames to stay above 30 fps (and even then it dips often) but then it looks like Turok on N64, and DEFINITELY worse than ROOST

Look at this screenshot: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/59...60268C7FA6778/

AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 2.8 ghz dual core
3 gigs of ram
GTX 260 core 216
Vista home 32

I have the recommended GPU and a CPU a comfortable 500 mhz above min, but its running like my specs should be below minimum, so either you guys didnt accurately determine what the min/req specs should be, or you have some work to do on the engine.

I don't have an epic machine and I dont expect to get 200 fps on ultra, but I DO want it to be playable and look better than its predecessor, or at least equal to it.

I appreciate all you've done with the several patches on the beta (which I didnt play unfortunately ) but please take care of this quickly.

Getting 20-40 FPS on medium-ultra settings.

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
4 GB DDR3 RAM
MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III 1GD5 Power Edition/OC
SSD
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Drivers updated and game files verified.

even if my FPS are the same or maybe higher than in the beta, the game seems to go slower than before

moreover I noticed muche stuttering, the problem is that game drop randomly fps in normal situations and this cause an extremely variable framerate.....and this not only happen with artillery...

I've seen that turn vysinc and smooth framerate on makes things slightly better but in the beta I had them off (and the games was went better)

Sorry it didn't help. I edited my post and added my specs and my settings. You can change that sound setting up to 128. Just use 8 bit increments. (8. 16, 32, 64, 128).

Maybe going higher could help for some odd reason. I'll test with my buddy since his works by going lower and I'll have him test with going higher to see if it helps in reverse.

Believe it or not I upped mine from the 32 to 128 just to see if there were a difference and it actually gave me about 10 extra FPS... Very strange to say the least. LOL

^^^Right behind you howitzer. If this isn't sorted out soon I may be forced to add TW to my list of devs to not trust anymore. Trust me, this list has been exploding the past year. I really trust TW though so I expect to not have to forget about them.

Please tell me this is the game's fault. It has to be.

My specs:

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

CPU
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.50GHz 66 °C
Yorkfield 45nm Technology

RAM
6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 332MHz (5-5-5-15)

Motherboard
Gateway G33M05G1 (Socket 775) 44 °C
The CPU isn't too great. Stick everything on medium. Ultra AA, really? Try medium or low. Turn off AO. AA and AO are expensive...obviously.

What's really odd is that I played the beta last night and had perfectly acceptable fps on every map. Now I'm struggling to maintain 30 fps.

Overall, performance is just very inconsistent. Sometimes I'll sit at 50 fps for a while and then dip into the high 20s for no apparent reason while viewing the same scene.

I'm running a 4870. Not the greatest card, but at various points in the beta, including just last night, it was running the game fine on high to medium settings. There's no doubt in my mind this is an optimization issue.

Also theres a bug. I was playing on everying low low low (unfortunately) and all kinds of objects and buildings are solid black.

So in order for the game to be playable, not only does it have to look like Turok, but also a glitchy nightmare too.
