Default [Help] Texture Transparency on Export

Right I don't exactly know what is going on BUT when I try to export textures from the editor, they come out transparent which is not usable. I have also tried exporting them through UModel and it does the exact same.

How can I stop this cause originally I never use to have this?

what are you using to view/edit the textures?

maybe this should be under "2d art" or map design...

Im using GIMP but I never had a problem with using this program before. Plus some of the files I had problems with in the past are actually now viewing how they should of...always the one I NEED and most of that package is doing this...

Yeah sorry I had no clue where to put this thread to make sure it got read aswel.

EDIT: Actually can someone export the 9mm gun texture and give us a link to it? I get this with all the weapons in the KF textures at moment but not my own textures anymore...weird stuff.

convert it to a bmp or tga and it should import fine.

i removed the alpha channel, that was what your problem was, i dont think your viewer/editor supports dxt3 channels (rgba)

this is the size it was in kfed, 512x512.

edit - but you really should keep the alpha channel in if you want combiners/specular masks to look good with it.

Cheers mate. I think your explaination is correct as it don't happen to all textures...Best example was when Braindead actually had to export a texture for me and when he gave it to me. I could export that after.

This is getting on my nerves now. I can't seem to export any of the textures because they become transparent when I open them in GIMP 2.0 (with DDS plug-in). Anyone know a way round this?

try photoshop lite + dds plugin. i've never had a problem using it because it let's you edit all the channels (rgba) individually.

once again it is the alpha channel that u seem to not be able to view separately.
