Guys, everyone is asking what is different in Realism vs Standard (formerly known as Relaxed Realism). I apologize for the formatting, I copied it out of a word document. Here is what he difference are:
Realistic Server Rules Configuration - The server rules will be set up with defaults for Realistic mode. Note: settings not listed can be modified by server admins for this configuration.

Am I seeing things, or does this mean team deaths/teamkills will be disabled in realistic mode, but enabled in standard? Surely that must be wrong?

also standard has ff 0-0.5, now you're making us use custom settings :P |

Reminds me of the failed CM ports of OFP, arcade mechanics covered with "lol realism mode" with stuff like taking away a compass, that sure is realistic

Ahh thanks for this was wondering if standard was dumbed down a whole bunch or not
good to know it isn't *totally* different from hardcore, just more forgiving.

Thanks for the post and especially thanks for keeping the great gameplay and not doing 2 different games with slow-mo aiming down the sight, parkinson sway and fat bastard stamina !

![]() Anyway Realism mode is mosly like an alternative HUD to Standard mode? Would be good to see more realistic suppression (take out the weapon randomly moving around), more realistic weapon sway, harder to aim weapons overall, no bandaging, more powerful bolts, tweaked class limits (more bolts), fewer rare weapons etc. I'm thinking about game balance mostly, less easy gameplay for semi's/smg's and to keep the gamier bits out Last edited by melipone; 09-05-2011 at 10:22 AM. |

Not all that I hoped, but not bad. I'll stay positive and assume/hope that many of the changes I want to see are server side variables, being unlisted. Seems I'll be rockin' out on "custom" servers. Don't understand why death messages exist in realism, by default. No mention of disabled kill cam? Those are the only things I really disagree with. EDIT: Seems there is no kill cam, at least. Good! Personal kill/death isn't bad ... but I still prefer none.
