Default Commands Not Recognized After Diving

Hi,

This is an error which I have experienced several times, mostly on Fallen Fighters (Not sure if I've actually experienced it on other maps).

Basically, what will happen is that when I dive, normally as a result of being shot at , I will sometimes be unable to enter any commands from my keyboard, except for control and alt. These continue to be bound to their normal functions (Mouse commands continue to function normally as well), but pressing any other key makes my avatar drop his current weapon to the ground.

So, it becomes impossible to move my avatar, or take any other action with him. This effect persists after death, forcing me to have to exit and restart the game. I can't remember if it persists across disconnects and reconnects to servers, but next time it happens I'll test it.

As well, if I continue to input commands from my keyboard, for example continuously pressing, or holding a key, my frame-rate will drop to zero until I release it or stop inputting commands. Sometimes there will be a beeping/error sound on command input as well.

So:

1) Diving prone using ALT causes my avatar to stop responding to keyboard inputs, besides ALT and CTRL
2) Pressing any other key makes him drop his current weapon
3) This persists after death
4) Command inputs cause a reduction in framerate as well as an error sound
5) Mostly experienced on the map Fallen Fighters

Thanks for the beta, and hoping you can find a way to solve this issue,

~Mr. Wiggles

I have had the same issue several times on The Apartments.

However, it has also happened to me twice while I was crawling in an already prone position while moving over top of what looks like pieces of broken particle board on the ground. It was like I got stuck on top of whatever geometry it was that made up the ground clutter. After getting stuck my keyboard configuration would switch and become unplayable.

One was on the wooden balcony on the second floor overlooking the small plaza at F4 in the center of the map grid and the other was behind a small wall that you can crawl along the right side of the map at E7 on the grid.

I'm still getting this problem. I tried defaulting the controls after I got stuck, but it didn't do anything.

I've been trying to avoid the problem by stopping before I go prone, but sometimes in the heat of the moment I'll dive and get stuck.

Again, this only happens while diving, not just by going prone, and the only way to fix it that I know of is to restart RO2.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've experience a similar issue, diving into prone mess with my keybindings and for some reason my character is always moving forward.

I found out that it was cause by a windows shortcuts (Alt left + Shift left) that switches my keyboard layout from french azerty to american qwerty.

Maybe you're experiencing that as well, check in your control panel for region an languages settings, check the shortcuts that are defined, maybe you'll find something.

i think i know the problem, as i had it. if you have multiple language support (do you have a language bar somewhere on your taskbar?) the key combination shift+alt changes your keyboard language, which would make the keys not work. if this is your problem, my fix is to change the language hotkey to something else, or disable it entirely.
