The screenshots look brilliant, if it plays anything like RO your're onto a winner guys. Don't worry about the guys nit-picking they are in the minority, and as all dev's say "you can't please everybody"

Now to save up for a new rig, £700 methinks, good lord!

The Russians are supposed to have an SMG advantage, because the Germans have the LMG advantage (and that can't be helped, there was no bigger mags for the DP-28), so if you give the Germans a whole bunch of MP-40/2's to "balance it with the PPSh", the Russians will allways be outgunned.

There are other ways to "balance" the MGs out. Giving more ammo overall to the Russian soldiers and less to the Germans. Or you can decrease the accuracy of the German MGs... I'm not saying it is realistic, but I would imagine something will be done. I myself would have preferred a more realistic balance style rather than symmetric balancing.

They look great, I don't think I've ever seen the Unreal Engine 3 look that good, it's nice to finally see some media for Rising Storm, it's looking great so far.

I hope there are some more videos at some point too

To be honest, I wouldn't want to make games what people want. I make what I want, and that is probably the case with what TWI is doing. They do what they want and think is best. This isn't a democracy or anything like that, so stop having such a big sense of self-entitlement.
If you want something, do it yourself.

It's good there won't be many (i hope that means it's a hero weapon only), but i'm still quite worried about the team balance..

Atleast tell me you guys fixed the PPSh's upgrade progression, se we get the select-fire Type-2 with a realistic mag load (1 Drum and 6 or 8 sticks), and not the downgraded late-1944 version you where planning to use months ago.

Because if we're stuck with the 1944 version Type-3 and 35 round mags, the PPSh will be a throw away weapon again, we'll be tossing it in favour of the first MP-40 we come across just like we had to do in Ost (the issue there beeing insane recoil), because the MP-40 will be the better weapon, a ROF 500 gun with a 32 round mag will have much more fire time, and more tactical options than a 900 ROF FA-only gun with a 35 round mag. With the MP-40 you can atleast fast-click to do single-shots, but the PPSh will be doing 5 round bursts nomatter how fast you try to click, wasting tons of our very limited ammo. Having a high ROF does not make the PPSh better, it's actually a liabillity for the weapon and is considdered it's greatest flaw (it's the main reason the PPD-40 and PPS-43 are considdered the better weapons), and it can only be turned from a flaw to an advantage by the drum mags, or atleast be fixed slightly by the fact that the PPSh had select fire untill late 1944.

I just want an even playing field for once, more like it was back in the mod days where the PPSh was actually a good weapon, capable of leveling out the German LMG advantage.

I don't want another Ost where the Germans have both the better LMG's and the better SMG's, not again, it sucked the first time, and it'll suck now aswell

To all the ranters and non-believers:

Please do not buy the game because I know you are the people that later:

- TK on purpose
- sit in tank and do not drive for no reason or just drive in circles or
man the cannon and purposely never hit a target
- call other players noobs all the time
- chat in-game all the time instead of playing or
use VOIP to yell at other people throughout the entire match
- and so on and so on....

and all because you have bought and are playing a game you're not pleased with.

So save your credits and go feeding the ducks or something like that
and let the rest of us have a good time playing a game thats finally
worth its money again for ages.

QFT again

Getting disappointed in the shallow mindedness.
- There are RO players who want realism and historical accuracy
- and there are twitchy CoD players who want SWAT uber stuff

I guess I do not exist then...

There are hundreds of different reasons to play a game like RO, why the grouping... Only 3% will think the Mkb42 is game-breaking (percentage is speculative).
Only an equivalent will be CoD twitchy reflex players.
I will play the game because it will be the most fun I will have in a FPS for a long time, nothing more nothing less!

p.s. people are whining over a ski-mask (which is honestly clich'e but plausible and pretty cool), I am getting ashamed of some people.

TWI (and MOD developers and Sam Hulick) thanks for making an awesome game and keeping a close look on the community. You have implemented a lot of suggestions and listened to a lot of criticism. We really appreciate it!
I thought TWI could use a 'thank you' after the bashing

I suggest you take at least a case study course at your local college/university. Every economist or business manager I have ever read says that the market is the purest form of "democracy" because the dollar has power. If you can't produce what people want, you aren't going to do very well int he global economy.

This is totally missing the point.
Yes a market can resemble a democracy, but nobody says you have to abide by it's laws or you will get punished.

If they want to make something they like and get an income out of it there is no democratic law or mechanism that stops them for doing so. They are actually proving that with RO2 and RS.

Yes handling the market like a democracy rewards most of the time, however a dictator like microsoft does pretty well too imho.

I suggest you take a look at gaming industry, everybody is doing what you just said, which is why we're getting remakes of remakes and sequels of sequels. Is that a good thing?

Edit: I might add that people complaining about the weapons and equipment are the small vocal minority. Add that into what you said and you'll get the reason why TWI won't do as you please.

Great looking new screenshots for both ROHOS and RS. Nice work!

Glad to hear more confirmation on customizing the servers with regards to weapons and such. As long as the base core mechanics of the game remains true to itself (ex: no crosshairs, no duck and heal etc etc), then it really is hard to complain about things such as the HUD or hero weapons. I'm guessing there will be more than enough servers where everyone can sample and play what they like best, or even try them all.
