The only video I could find is the trailer, which contains alpha footage apparently. I'm still a bit surprised this is releasing without more marketing or media.

All,

From what I have been told, a new in game video along with some new screen shots will be made available in a week or so.

I will post something if/when I hear or see anything.

Here is their website:

Fears are pretty much confirmed.

It's essentially an ArmA 2 mod with pretty models but no gameplay improvements. They didn't even bother changing some stock ArmA sounds(explosions, tank MG). I'd chip in 10-15$ just for the sake of it, but when there's Invasion 44 there's no need for that as well. The only thing that can make it worth full price for me is an awesome PvP multiplayer.

I think the BETA will be starting next week, so things could change or improved. It's my hope that this will be an awesome PVP game also..time will tell, but to me, this has great potential.

Sadly it does look like an ArmA 2 mod. The animations in the menu are awful, they should have went with pictures or at least made the scene look better.

Animations are the same for walking/weapons to. Check 1:08, the guy with the MP40 is holding it in a really awkward way. Everything else is the same - the same enter/exit animation, menu, the awkward external views for aircraft, the "falling and getting stuck momentarily" issue when exiting your vehicle is still there and the vehicle physics look just as bad. I am going to assume the editor has no changes either.

Had the core gameplay been the same but with refinements such as better vehicles, better animations, and a better squad control menu it would have been attractive. This just looks like a slightly more polished mod.

I might buy it when it is very cheap just to support them though. And perhaps messing around with WWII weapons might be fun, because I44 can't be played with ACE and some other mods I have.

After watching this video I have mixed feelings.

My first impression is: why does it feel worst than ArmA 2 Combined w/ ACE, ACRE, UKF, blastcore and other basic mods? I play huge campaigns in ArmA 2, with 40+ players and gameplay is way better. Sounds, animations, AI behavior feels improved and more natural than here, like different game.

It really reminds me Invasion 44 just a bit, but mod is free and comes with ACRE and other goodies that are necessary for ArmA 2 multiplayer.

Probably because this is essentially a mod without the other mods installed.

Hopefully porting ArmA 2 mods into this will be easy.

Otherwise think of it as an unofficial or third party DLC/addon. At $5-10 if you like ArmA 2 I am sure you will enjoy this.

But with ArmA 3 (and maybe some big changes?) coming I would rather wait and see what that brings.

I just asked on the forums and they said it's a standalone game with own mods in the future,so what are you talking about? This is NOT a mod made by fans....it's a game starten from 0 based on the ARMA 2 engine!

So why does it use sounds from ArmA 2, and seemingly animations too? :P
"0 based" is an overstatement.

I don't know much about these things but are you telling me the m44 or mg42 sounds are going to be similar with the....(you complete here)....from ARMA 2?And I haven't seen a single shot yet from the weapons, just the tank.

Yeah I can spot many infantry animations and effects taken directly from ARMA2. That doesn't mean this game isn't professional of course, but it does create skepticism for me.

I could forgive this being a re-skin of ArmA2, reusing animations etc...and maybe even some sounds... IF the gameplay was something more engaging than ArmA2. If it has really good multiplayer team vs team combat...then maybe I'll buy in.

If, like ArmA2, it relies heavily on scripted co-op missions against AI that engages you from distances you can't see - no thanks.
