Well, to reflect on some recent posts here. I played the game for quite a bit and it wasn't the low player count pub servers that was the issue for me more so then the rough release. After the second patch I just haven't heard much from the developers.

I have this foliage and tree issue that distorts the LOD and it just makes the game look awful regardless of the settings I have. I'm assuming they'll fix this during the next patch or what not but until then I can't stand playing it with that horrendous problem.

The game definitely has potential, the models are quality and the tank/vehicle features/mechanics are great. About the comparisons to Invasion 1944, in my opinion, Iron Front has much better quality but I44 has more quantity. That is pretty much my look at it.

The whole hurdle of fire one has to go through for creating and publishing mods for Iron Front was a dagger in the heart though. This is my biggest issue with the game. Sure, waiting for patches/updates can be rather lengthy right now but the fact that there won't be many mods for the game as there are in the ArmA series is something that was poorly handled.

I wouldn't respect the biased opinions from sites where journalists are more keen to console titles then military simulation PC games. I rather read up on what PC Gamer and/or Gamespy thought, though I always leave such decisions up to myself rather than reviews. Like I written above, the game has potential though some jarring issues at the moment stop it short from its true potential.

I think Destructoid gave it 7/10. I think that score fits the game as it's good but still has stuff to be fixed.

Thinking about picking this up on Steam, but the only way I'd enjoy it is if there was a regularly active group or clan I can play with specifically for this game.

There was a lot of lofty talk about this game before release here so, are there any clans/dedicated groups from this community that plays Iron Front? And more importantly if you do - are you willing to take in a new player (plenty of experience with ArmA though)?

Let me know, if not - I guess I'll skip it then.

I haven't played the game yet. I can't get my hands on it in stores and I only buy games in a physical form. So I refuse to buy via steam.

Bought this game on sale...really wish I didn't. Game play feels exactly the same as ARMA 2. Crashes alot. And the campain is painfull. No body playing online. Wast of 20 dollars. Asked for my money back from steam, they just said contact Iron front.

This game really is the same if not less than what should of been a free mod.

Looking at the responses here, I think I did good to hold off. Invasion 44 is preparing another big update which will include new aircraft and tank features. It should give me enough WW2 dosage.

And that is why I am holding off even trying it. Looks like lots of content, but that doesn't mean its quality. Not to mention why spend the money if its a chore to find games online.

It will have to fall into the $4.99 to $9.99 range before it has a chance with me.

Uh, some words would actually help us out here.

If you're playing/enjoying the game than you're doing a disservice by not letting us know why it is worth it.

Yeah, I've never seen anyone I know giving positive feedback on this game. There was so much hype around this game, I knew something was wrong. I never believed in that hype, especially when I saw that video of MG gameplay I posted a few pages ago.

I had lots of friends of Steam talking all day long about it, people saying everywhere it'd be the game that would kill RO2 and stuff like that. Now the game's out, all those people are silent, as if they wanted to hide their frustration.

I stopped to play it because:

1.Lack of Players
2.Lack of good servers
3.Lack of teamplay (except for coop-servers but bots are dumb as crap)
4.Low Server Capacity for gigantic maps

Kill RO2? Different types of games. One is a PvP type game whereas the other replies on a mission editor for SP/co-op to play proper missions. The only thing that killed RO2 was itself.

From the videos before this game released it was rather clear this would be ArmA2: WWII. Essentially, a WWII expansion. Running off the same engine with the same flaws that the ArmA series has always had.

With ArmA 3 around the corner I am amazed that people are even interested in this game.

I would suggest staying away from any ArmA spin off then.

Most folks utilize mods and/or updates that were made for such cases in ArmA 2. It seems that is not the case for Iron Front though, and all the gameplay videos I've seen showcase some really non-immersive, stupid A.I. unfortunately. Looks like the same bot behavior in vanilla ArmA 2.

Also, the strict stipulations for modding this game kind of sealed its fate right out of the gate.

So it is hard to mod for? Very odd considering how mods have helped ArmA 2 sales (not talking about Day Z here).
