there's actually plenty of in-game footage available, and some has already been posted in this thread.

I think he means footage that would show something actually new instead of random gameplay footage that's 500% familiar already since original OFP:CWC. It definitely may be good for people who are less familiar of the series, but considering the nature of let's play footage I would presume 2-3 vids focusing more on basics should be more than enough.

I'd honestly like to be interested about IF44 but to this point there's been very little exhibitions of something new and completely overhauled (like the supposed armour system, once again) instead of small improvements here and there, and waiting for 10 to 20 other videos before finally they come in play are extremely meh-inducing.

Been discussed a thousand times already, its ArmA II with a WWII skin made by a decent mod team with a few new features and isn't going to cost a fortune (I can pre-order for 10 UK pounds) AM I the only one that doesn't have a problem with this? These forums have become so cynical in the past few years.

I'd say the last 2 years. Care to guess why?

I read something about a game called Heros of Stalingrad.

Those who are big ArmA fans will probably get their enjoyment out of it. At this point I am not interested in paying for more content for ArmA as I would rather have improvements on the game itself. I've been playing around in the editor again these past few days and it amazes me how many functions don't have a GUI and instead rely on the script line.

Simply trying to make a mission end when you killed unit X and Y requires a script. You would think they could easily make that into an intuitive GUI.

Sorry for repeating myself the 19th time.

Well, they call old wargame enthusiasts "grognards," right? As in "those who grumble"?

I for one enjoyed that trailer and got to see some great things.

At this point I think we'll have to wait 20 days for release instead of always talking about the same crap

Keep in mind that the ArmA2 community is much bigger than the RO community and if only a part of them will play IF plus some small parts of other WWII games like Red Orchestra, etc. then the community will be big enough and a great mix

I have to admit that a too small community is my fear #1, too, but not because there's not enough potential or IF being a bad game (indeed it is very much the opposite ), but because of the lack of marketing and spread of information.

But as I mentioned earlier, I guess that most of the ArmA2 players know about this game since it has been mentioned on most of the ArmA2 community sites as far as I know, so I'm very optmistic for the game

Default Ask the Iron Front: Liberation 1944 team your questions

[I know that there already is an existing Iron Front thread, but I'd like to create a new thread for this special opportunity offered to the RO community, so it doesn't "perish" between new posts in the Iron front thread ... if this was wrong, I apologise and kindly ask a mod to merge this thread with the IF thread]

Hi there,

as some of you may know ofpec.com will publish an interview with Steffen Trombke, Project Leader of Iron Front, in a few weeks (*click me*). Since the ArmA/OFP community may be interested in other aspects of the game than the Red Orchestra community, Patelaros Vasileios (aka "Panzer_Baron"), Art Director of the Iron Front team, kindly offered me the possibility to interview him in the name of the Red Orchestra community.

Therefore I ask you to send me your questions concerning Iron Front. You can send them via PM, Steam or just post them here, so I can answer questions that have already been answered in the Deepsilver forums and everyone can see. I'll collect your questions and publish the interview as soon as possible.

Iron Front: Liberation 1944 will be released on May 25th 2012 and will be available on Steam and retail stores.

Best regards,

No0dle

I case someone missed it:

So if you think there is too little information about this game, just ask the devs your questions

Quick two that were raised on Polish RO:O forum: Have you heard anything from ACE and ACRE teams? These two mods are "must have" for ArmA 2 OA multiplayer. It would be great to see them in Liberation. Did IF devs speak to those two?

On which platforms IF will be released (Steam, GetGames, GMG?)? In 2nd World countries like Poland will Iron Front be released by local publisher or prices will be standardized for my country?

Based on those shots the towns look a lot better than in ArmA 8)

Buildings seem to blend better with terrain. I also like that the maps comes with some battle scars already. ArmA maps are too sterile in this aspect in comparison.
