Welcome to the forums guys! I'm sure you'll find it a very civilized forum except for a couple of obvious trolls

Ah well, I guess I'd better say hi too.

Formerly of |Frag-Tastic| the FPS clan and now somewhere in the middle of nowhere + used to hang with iBleed from time to time on Crosshairs (from the heart of Europe).

Some chaps over at the BASHandSlash forums recommended coming here to see what's going on and so here I am.

I'm stonked to say the least about what we've seen of the game so far. The current crop + the 2 big'uns just being announced is not exactly filling me with optimism...ROHOS2 + Rikochet are.

I was warned this is a geeky forum. LOL they were right. You guys know your stuff and hat off to all of you, does not matter if you are in agreement or not...amazing discussions and the knowledge...blows me away. I like nothing better (well I do but that's private ) than a good evenings FPS blast - with friends, having a laugh whilst tbagging etc..

Oh, nearly forgot...some gaming history. In fact, my online gaming started back with Hidden & Dangerous 2 + the Sabre Squadron. Oh the lag-dancing days + adjusting aim to allow for lag. Since then it appears to have gone slowly but steadily downhill. Yes I play (played?) COD series and BF series and still do, but what else is there out there? I'm ashamed to say I've not tried Ostfront...so TWI, help me make amends, put the FPS world to rights and get this game released already!

Hope to see you guys around here and in the game. Anytime, anywhere (no, not Martini) add Valleyhunter.

Peace.

Hello

I am Grabbed by the spetsnaz ( a cookie to whoever gets the reference) and I found out shot HoS while browsing the steam forums. This is probably the only FPS that I am looking forward too as the BF series has greatly dissapointed mr and I wasn't able to find any game as immersive, PC unique and mod friendly until I found about this game

Hope to make friends with all of you

Hello I am new to Red Orchestra 2 but it is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated games of all time and I am completely psyched to roll over the germans in my IS-2 !

Hi, I am completely new to the RO series. I have heard about the amazing things about RO:Ost, but as soon as I found out that RO2 was coming, I decided to save money and wait for its release. (Money will be tight soon).

Any who, a little bit about myself. I'm currently 32 and I used to be a subway train operator for the MTA in New York City. After 6 years of suffering with the MTA (terrible employer), I decided to pursue a different career and ultimately quit in the winter of this year. I'll be starting classes at the end of August (oh joy, right when RO2 is rumored to be released), training to become an RN. My ultimate goal is to become a CRNA, which means I'll be in school for the next few years of my life. I live with my wife and 2 children; a son who is around 5 and a daughter who is almost 1.

Although not as avid of a gamer as I used to be, I still enjoy playing the occasional FPS when I have time. I used to be keen on the BF series (more specifically, the PoE2 mod for BF2), but it has become apparent that the series is falling apart, so I probably won't be getting BF3. It's sad how far FPS gaming has gone. At least we have RO2!

Default hello!

Hi and greetings from The Holy Sandwich. I'm a long time gamer from Sweden who loves big scale battle games and WW2 games. This is just the kind of game I've been looking for for a really long time. Big scale, WW2 and with a good realistic gameplay. I love the vehicle system and the pinning system.

Can't wait to pin down some krauts with an MG

Hi there,

I also wanted to say hello.

I was searching for an alternative as my favorite gameseries seems to be a victim of casualisation (Battlefield).

I still like Battlefield, but... I also love taktical gaming with guys on Teamspeak and no chance to win if there is no teamwork or communication.

I'm coming from germany, so please excuse the, sometimes, strange english.

Till now I was playing Battlefield since it has been born with 1942 with a small break on Call of Duty 4.

When BF2 can out, i couldn't see WW2 shooters for a very long time. But when I saw RO2 and its features I decided to give it a try, and as I like forum, also to register here.

Maybe we see us in a Beta If there is one I would be glad to help.

I am on the forum from time to time for a while now, but I now see I never properly introduced. Better late tha sorry I guess

First of all, I am a 22 year old student in Leiden, The Netherlands.
In a few months I will finish my bachelor in Biomedical Sciences at the university, however I am planning on a management master (I really don't like research...).
So that's a little personal info for anyone who cares

So I am gaming since 1995 or something and when I was 9 I started with Carmageddon and my uncle always dropped by some nice fps demos for me to play. Actually I now remember, Duke 3D is actually the first FPS I ever played.
Continuing; I seriously played Raven Shield and joined the gTp clan for several years (continuing in CSS) and stopped when MW2 came out.
Played that but after a few months I realised it just wasn't that much fun anymore.
BC2 was a slight relief, however I am plagued with connection problems, 90 ping but still lag problems and EA keeps kicking me.
So few months ago I found RO2 on a CoD forum and the rest is easy to deduct from that.

Thanks for reading

Hello all. Been lurking here for awhile now, figured I'd "man up" and introduce myself.

Name is Mike, I go by the handle of Gutshot or GutshotYooper, which, the latter is now all but defunct.

Been gaming since the days of the glorious arcades, when I dumped quarter after quarter into the stand up Space Invaders game and the old mechanical pinball machines.

First game console was a machine called the Telstar, where I pwnt my Dad on pong pretty regular. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telstar_%28game_console%29

Started PC gaming with AOE I, then moved on to MoHAA, etc........never looked back on consoles and probably never will.

Been following RO2 since finding Kucd's posts on the Bash and Slash forums about it. It caught my attention with the apparent quality and attention to detail that TWI seems to be putting into it. Been wanting a game with a more mature player base and with the WWII theme, which never gets old for me.

I don't usually post much that is worth reading, but once in awhile, I might hit on something that is vaguely interesting, so try not to gloss over my posts too much.

Look forward to the profitable and intelligent discussions on this forum.

Hey all!

Been following this game for some time now.. looking at the lineup of new PC fps which are CPU eating, console ports, and lacking many features a PC game should have - HoS stood out like an angel amongst hookers

I'm familiar with TWI's excellent quality in their work and updates - I own Killing Floor and love the support TWI has for it still!

Looking forward to HoS to the point that I'm finding it difficult to play any games I currently own, and get much more enjoyment from stalking this website for updates.

Hey!
Been pumped for this as soon as it was announced.
Used to play a lot of dod, dod:s and RO at my tertiary institute, even the teachers got in on it but had a break from PC FPS for a few years as I had a crappy PC.
Rediscovered everything a year or two back when finally got a new rig, although my tastes have changed as I prefer more realistic games.
So i currently play RnL and DH mostly (apart from my iRacing addiction) but jump into RO every now and then too.
VERY excited about this, and as much so about In Country and Rising Storm.

Am always Leweegibo in game, and due to being an Aussie Im the guy with 250 ping. So I do my best to play a support role as close combat can be tough sometimes. So yeh, I'll be that guy running though fire to give you ammo

Woulda signed up here yolks ago but could never be bothered making a new email as I always had a hotmail one!

Hey guys. I was actually reluctant to make a new email before I signed up.
Before I saw Red Orchestra 2's first trailer in 2010, I never knew what Red Orchestra was except that it was the most realistic WW2 game on the market. I think that I mostly lurked on the General Modding and Ideas and Suggestions forums because I wanted to see what others want in the game.

My current rig has 8GB of Corsair RAM, an AMD Phenom 2 x4, and a GTX 460 SE. All of them are at stock settings. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a GTX 580 so I won't have to deal with an SLi problem with some engines/games.

Right now I'm playing Halo: Reach, ArmA 2 Free, Crysis 2, Counter-Strike: Source, The Witcher 2, and the Mortal Kombat remake.

Hello everyone!
My name is August, I'm from Lithuania and I'm 15 years old.
I have been a huge RO fan since 2008 and I've been waiting for HoS since it was published.

I really enjoy games based on WW2, because it's my favorite era (mostly interested in the German side). That's pretty much it.
And I want to point out that Tripwire has really gained my trust. I've seen no game company that pays so much attention to it's fans. HoS is like a dream come true to me. I'm deeply looking forward to it and I will see you guys in Stalingrad

If anyone is interested, please add me on Steam - playa174.

Hello everyone,

I'm Dirkjan and i'm 18 years old. I've been following this site since 2008 and i thought maybe it's time to register I played the first RO, and it was awesome! I see the RO series as a piece of art, and a way to remember the heroes of the Wehrmacht and the USSR who gave their lives for their country.

Hey everyone, I'm Sean, 19 years old from Northern Michigan. I have been playing Ostfront for a year and a half now. Absolutely the best game I have ever bought. I've been playing first person shooters for years but Red Orchestra changed everything for me, It is now the only game I play. Counting down the days until Heroes of stalingrad is released. I'm very excited about it and will be buying it the day it's out !
Greetings
