Default Is it Bulletproof?

I've been trying to make a list of things that seem to be strangely resistant to bullets - at least some of the time, and discounting the times when I am in clumsy mode and couldn't hit my thumb with a hammer...

Grass

So, he hasn't seen you. He lies down sidweays to you about 50 metres away. It's a perfect rifle shot, apart from the few blades of grass in front of him. Aim, fire - nothing. Reload, aim, fire - nothing. After endless wasted shots, he crawls forward a bit, no grass in the way, *bang* dead.

Water

The novelty of Arad wears off after a while, doesn't it? To relieve the boredom I sometimes like to go and lie in the river for a while - it's a harmless pastime, and it's free. Now, the other day in a BA-64, I noticed a German lying in my favourite river spot. What a cheek! First Poland, now my bit of the river! So, I machine gunned him from 20 meters away. After my 2nd drum of ammo, it became clear it was doing nothing. But it made me think, because in all the times I've been shot at while lying in the river, nobody has ever managed to hit me. Not a scratch.

Vehicles

Yes of course the armour is bulletproof. But when you open the hatch, do you put your head into an invisible tube of bulletproof glass? Or is it just me that can never, ever shoot the crew of a vehicle, even by going right up and sticking a pistol in the drivers ear?

Gaps

You know, the empty bits in between the not-empty bits. Between railings, banisters, window frames. We've spoken a lot about the fact that the UT engine is quite poor with this. But on the railway bridge, those steel supports are what... 5 metres apart? You could get a Tiger tank through that gap. So, if I am careful to throw my grenade through the middle of that gap, it can't possibly bounce back at me can it? You guessed.

I've tried to keep this separate from the "firing blanks" issue, which doesn't seem to be dependent on any cover the target has. What do other people think - have you experienced any of these unlikely bulletproof materials?

Yea gaps on the railway bridge and other such gaps often have a large amount of bulletproff glass.

I once shot at a tiger commander about 5 meters infront of me with the AT rifle. Sparks shot out of his head but he didn't die. That was one hell of a tough hat.

I seem to be finding more and more of these walls of bulletproof glass. Blow down the first set of doors to the right of the warehouse in Stalingrad Kessel, go straight ahead and up the stairs, heading towards North rail yard. It is fatal trying to throw a grenade anywhere near those stairs. It is quite funny to watch your grenade arc towards the target then spring back like it's on a bungee cord.

My favourite, though, was driving a SU76 on the Rakowice airfield. I suddenly hit an obstacle and came to a dead stop. I was completely level and I couldn't see what I was caught up on, but the tank wouldn't move at all either forward or back. Eventually I got out and walked right round the tank - I was on flat level concrete, no obstructions at all.

Well there is a bug (or Server problem) that the position of the Crew (out/in) only gets updated when the Main Gun fires, thus its possible to think one is shooting at Exposed Crew, but they are inside of the Tank all the while.
