Obviously it was a scout vehicle... I'm just wondering if there were any "odd" battles where say an infantry assault was supported by a mass of BA-64s

In real life they must've been used for scouting, I heard they were vunerable to gunfire though.
In the game people try to steamroll with them and tanks get hilarious kills, I've gotten a kill in a tank against a clown car that was very similar to that picture.

Like said, it was just a scout vehicle. And a light and fast one, so on somewhat deacent roads it must have been sort of good for it

I'm sure the BA64 would be totally different in ROHOS with the more realistic damage system, and since it wasn't a personel carrier, you wouldn't be able to exit it so there would be no more goofy behavior with it. In other words, it would be just a lightly armored car and very, very vulnerable.

The role of the Clowncar was to get a guy with an anti tank rifle and a satchel charge to ride on top of it, and then drive zigzagging behind the enemy tank lines, spreading Christmas =)

It's really a vehicle that is almost impossible to implement realistically. It will only be used for silliness.
