Like already mentioned the ppsh certainly does take skill to use effectively. The only time i'll actually spray with it instead of shooting quick bursts is in extreme close quarters where the bullet detection is dodgy at best. I sure hope that will get fixed for Ostfront.

With all due respect Jenova, uve clearly lost ur awareness of RO after that post. If you tk someone other than them running in your line of fire or you throwing a nade and youve been playing for more than a week, theres something wrong. Also, as long as you know how to click a mouse instead of holding one down, the ppsh is an automatic sniper rifle. It requires no skill whatsoever besides knowing how to burst.

I hope you'll allow me to add things like long range tk's when the teammate is running around way behind the lines looking for cheap kills, when he's running back towards you and you mistake him for an enemy and other countless situations where it's easy to make a mistake and shoot a teammate. But I suppose you are perfect and never made a single mistake after your first week of playing, right?

Using your way of argumentation using a rifle requires no skill whatsoever either besides knowing how to point and click. Get off your high horse and realize that every weapon in RO requires skill to some degree, some might require less than others but who is going to judge that, and does it even really matter which? Different weapons are meant for different situations, and handicapping yourself just because you want to feel "leet" is stupid. Imagine a soldier in the real war refusing an automatic because he thinks it takes no skill to use and would rather storm a building carrying a long cumbersome bolt action rifle.

I just hope Herman returns to RO.

Then people will know what true PPSh 41 skills are (even if Jenova was pretty good he always dwelled in the shadows of Herman)

No. No excuse for that at all. Learn the uniforms and what each side looks like. Its not hard, one is greyish, the other tanish.

Kinda hard when they're both a small pixel on the horizon, wouldn't you agree?

Then what exactly did you mean by the "something is wrong" part? Everyone makes mistakes once in a while, it's only natural.

Hi, typically, everyone turned this into a discussion between eachother

So, welcome, and dont worry, no gaming community on earth wants new players more than this one.. Its always nice with new players, its just every time you get 10 new players there is alway one lamer/jerk/cheater/whatever

Hopefully RO:O will have hundreds or maybe thousands of new players, all good, but there will be some bad apples in there.. judging you entirely from one forum post , I'm guessing you are not one of those bad apples So, again, welcome, and stick around, like Amerikaner said, you've just found the best game ever

Only one out of ten? That sounds highly optimistic, especially considering it's the steam community that most of the new players will be coming from.

lol ok, back on topic.

One sentence to sum things up: "Be nice to the future oncomers to RO, but if they purposefully dick around enough times then unleash upon them the infamous wrath of RO elitism."

Finally decided to sign up after a long time of just reading. Looking forward to the steam release. Was going to go out and buy ut2k4 to try it, but it looks like the retail will be much better so I've decided to hold off

yeah, more Aussies. Nice too see some people interested from my side of the planet. Maybe we can get a local server populated when RO Ost Front is released. I get tired of being behind the eightball with my high pings, makes close quarter combat difficult in the extreme.

Welcome you and your mates, it's a great game only to get better.

back off topic: I lost my ppsh skills when we got free aim way back in 2.0, although I have no doubt herman would still own everyone with it if he played again. Haven't talked to him in over a year though.

when i started to play RO, I spent more time in respawn tim mode than in game ...of course... what was much more bad is fact that many of my team-mates were there because I was just noob and had problem to recognize axis/alies... BUT than word 'sry' was the most used one by me... because I know how annoying it can be... there were many situations that I killed some unlucky player 3 times in a row (TK) and I started beeing frustrated of my play... but I took my time to explain that I am just noob and I am realy sry... thats all you need...even those nervous skillors who dont like to be TKed just accept ur appologize when u do it... BUT I HATE ALL THOSE NOOBS THAT JUST DONT SAY ONE F* WORD TO EXPLAIN WHY TKing...
