Those screen shots look stunning.

Best character models and textures I have ever seen.

Yeah, was quite awkward indeed.

Never really watched Fallon's show. Does he do game reviews like this often? Or was it a one time, cause EA threw some of that $100 mil marketing budget at him?

Talk Shows don't touch this stuff in general. But EA is sparing no expense. There's all sorts of cross-promotional marketing going on right now, like when Duke did the big 3 minute ad on Comedy Central.

Was that recent exclusive footage, because I have seen that before.

No it was just the PS3 Fault Line playthrough on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

I think you guys are getting tunnel vision looking at the high-res face textures and then ignoring the rest of their bodies.

Sure it looks good but how often are you going to be close enough for that LOD to kick in? This is BF3, not Mass Effect or something like that.

And I see their AKs will be firing from safe as well...

I honestly can't really say it looks much better than BC2 did. But then that isn't what bothers me about BF3. I'm mostly worried about how it's actually going to play.

You need glasses then. This is looking incridible. And I love how they finally have AK74M instead of AK47/AKM like 99% of all the other games out there.

Thought so because of the barrell, anyways killstats showed a AK74M so either that is it and they got it wrong or they have an AK74M too.

Fallon has had gaming related segments every day this week and has often had industry people on his show as guests prior.

He loves to game in general, probably one of the few, if not the only mainstream talk show host that does and proudly shows it.

(Though I still don't care for his show.)

As for the screens, I still think they look damn impressive. I don't know too many texture artists who would bother to get the tiny stitching and detailed texture work for a piece of clothing as detailed as this seems to be.

Some examples if you can't access the super high res shots there, as I had some difficulty as well-

Meh I'm probably not going to get Battlefield 3, I just, well, don't find it (or most FPS's nowadays) extremely interesting. I'm not going to say "hurr casual" or something along those lines to insult people that are excited about this game.

It's good that people are excited for a more realistic game and are slowly moving away from games like the latest Call of Duty's. But I think having my main platform be PC has spoiled me. There's loads of different genres that I can play on my PC and I can play games that are much closer to what I want to play. For example, most of the games I've played as of late have been Europa Universalis III, Hearts of Iron III, and Victoria II, because I'm a sucker for grand strategy games like the ones Paradox makes.

Now, there are various other grand strategy games that I could be playing, from less complex ones like Risk or the Total War series, or more complex ones (I can't think of their names at the moment, but I do know they exist). But the Paradox strategy games strikes the right chord for me.

It's the same goes for FPS's, there's loads of different FPS games that I could play, but the ones that I never really get tired of are Red Orchestra, and Resistance and Liberation. I could play faster paced, but less realistic games like CoD or Battlefield, or I could play slower paced and more realistic games like ARMA II (Which I do play from time to time), but RnL and RO strike the right chord.

Definately! They are already starting the hype train this far out from release, this is gonna be a hit.

If you look at the buildings in the background,
the ones that are around 100 meters away^^ (pointing to background =D)
you can see the lack of detail and how they look smooth, and other graphical things. Not to mention that wretched movement with the analog sticks was horrible.

Good thing it is being developed on PC first.

Looks great to me. If I was interested in this kind of game (and if it had splitscreen multiplayer) I would be very pleased.
