Planes are big no-no, and I agree. But how about boats can we have them? I presume that we're getting some kind of landingcraft but how about actuall fighting vehicles? I'm mean of course the Eclo-80 which could be countered by the Imperial Navy's subchaser class No 13 because I at least don't seem to recall that the Japanese would've used any PT-boats.
Some archipelago maps where command points lay in different island would be cool.

If I understand it correctly. You posted the idea to use ships in the mod which fight each other. The Elco 80 vs the Type 13.... And command point on different islands ? So these ships could ship all infantry from on island to the other. This idea can be dropped in the same box as planes.
It all sound like Battlefield 1942 by the way. |

Drecks, let me put the round timers on all our maps to 24 hours.

It's a nice idea sampsa, but it's too big and too ambitious for both our timescale and our intended battle sizes. I'm afraid that we won't be doing anything like this.

I still hope RS will have landing craft though, whether they are driven by AI or the players. They're kind of a must-have.

If you made the first game which did landings well, you would go down in history. But I guess you would rather not risk it.

What about using the Amtrak as a troop transport? That way you can have an amphibious vehicle that doesn't really suck since you can continue driving it around on land.

Still, maybe Elco boats could act as firesupport in landings since later models were equiped with mortars and 37 mm guns. Mights still be too much work to do a vehicle for a few landing maps.

Amtrak is best idea since a Red Orchestra game. Any balance or unbalance is realistic.

The Pacific was a very amphibious oriented campaign, hence why the US Marines were so heavily involved.

Yeah, as in the numerous aquatic waterways of Iraq.

What about a patrol boat? Did some islands go inland enough for them to use?
