Yeah I think there were only listen server up, there was also a bug that you could hear the hosts weapon even miles away like he/she was right next to you. Both those bugs happen on listen server only.

I am not a beta tester .. but I seriously do not understand this..

- Removed the dual weapon spawn bug for the level 6 firebug, what would a firebug spawn with now?

And guys, what I did'nt get reading this thread - are European players also able to test these beta changes? If so, how? Special servers with files downloaded before entering the map? Please, a short instruction would be very nice.

Maybe you overlooked every moment since the katana was changed to semiauto? It has been demanded ALOT. Not only because all other melee weapons are autofire but because having to clickspam is plain annoying. If people don't time there shots and get hit then surely it makes you the better zerker?

I can confirm that i was a listen server (were playing on No Glory's listen server an my listen server). For some reasons, the dedicated server was not working. I was not even able to see my own dedicated server in my LAN tab.

Spawn with only 1 weapon instead of 2.

You need the Beta version of KF, its not like if you would be using the version of KF you paid for and would simply have to join specific servers. 2 different versions.


And can we have the IP of the servers Yosh because i dont see any. :S

this change log looks very promising and will make the game enjoyable again and make it harder and the xbow will finally get nerfed like hell.

I can't find any servers online.

I also tried to play solo in "Harbor" and it doesn't work (it stays at the menu without starting the game), it doesn't display a preview either.

Really, the fyigm that this topic evokes whenever it gets mentioned is just disturbing.
This doesn't hinder you in any way after all. You can still clickety click for precisely timed swings just fine.
If all you're here for is complaining and you're not even in the beta then kindly remove yourself from this thread.


That said, the katana alt fire is still on semi-auto.
One more thing to put on my list of stuff to fix...

Ah dude, I knew it would come. But because it's coming from you (played some games on the same server as you, and, well, you acted like a total douchebag against other players) I would gladly overlook your elitist behaviour.

A few people from the forums had been choosen by random with a PM. I don't think they accept any new ones right now, I think they might accept new people next week. Not sure about that.

He spawns with the flamer like he used to. Or mac? Either way, one weapon not two.

Huh... Kind of disappointed I wasn't included actually, but then again I had no reason to expect that I would be. Guess that takes me down a notch.

Anyway, some initial impressions, just from reading the changelog:

Berserker changes sound good overall, but I have my doubts about the extra damage resistance. How much is it now? If the Chainsaw is significantly improved, higher damage resistance could end up being overpowering... Be careful with that. Also, what's the new base fire rate of the Katana primary?

6-man Suicidal Flesh Pound now takes... four Crossbow headshots from a level 6 Sharpshooter? Ouch. We're certainly getting the extra difficulty by the bucketload here, but since (I assume) they're still 50% resistant to all non-counters, it does make me wonder how a team of 6 will fare against them in Suicidal in practice, especially in cramped environments and/or without a Sharpshooter. I'll reserve judgement on that one until I play it.

Crossbow repurchase is actually fixed now. Good to hear. Likewise for the Hunting Shotgun, but I hardly ever play Support Specialist, so I can't comment.

Pipe bombs cost a fortune now. Good overall, but raises one question: What's the sell value of a level 6 Demolitions' spawn equipment?

Haven't used the Mac-10 enough to comment.

Nice Flesh Pound behaviour changes. Does the new targetting affect body blocking and/or rage timer resets?

Didn't see the Scrake change coming, but together with the Crossbow resistance (not sure if I go for that particular approach, but if it gets the job done...) it should really keep teams on edge. Given how common Scrakes are in the late waves, I predict that target prioritisation and efficient crowd control will be emphasised much more strongly as a result - you'd have to kill them quickly to stop them from wreaking havoc, and you're not going to manage that if you're drowning in Crawlers and Gorefasts at the same time. I like where this is going.

And the Clot change is good too. You actually have to worry about them now, unless you're a Berserker. Nice!

Overall, there might be a couple of teething problems, but I reckon you're on the right track. Have fun with the testing, and be sure to keep the rest of us posted with your progress

I guess the whole beta is limited to TWI forum users? I usually just use the Steam forum and wouldn't even know about the balance beta if it wasn't for some guy linking to this topic. And I suppose I'm not the only player willing to help testing who's only active there. :)

Hehe, well they definitely hit it harder than we expected. Still, SS will take down Scrakes like nobodies business and it seems there are more of them and they still deal high damage per hit to FPs. Its not like Demos are not FP specialists so perhaps people will save the M32 for anti FP more now.

Though this change does render the LAW even more useless again. Its damage vs FPs is pitiful and with the major SS nerf the Demo is the best suited to assist for killing FPs meaning he'll be taking his GLs.

Hopefully i can test it later ><

I am not a beta tester but with all the speed and damage increases that Beserker is recieving, will he just able to marathon around the map and kill the zeds on the way? Or the adjustment of FP and Scrake negates the situation and make it harder for one to marathon?

The FP and Scrake are pretty violent right now, maybe even too much. I dont think it is even possible to solo a map anymore
