Default Dualwield/Throw Machete

A suggestion for a possible Berserker buff

Giving the berserker(ONLY) the ability to throw the machete and axe(maybe knife also), giving range to the berserker while still maintaining melee damage.

  • "How will it work?"
    • The ability to throw the weapon would be bound to the "Iron_Sight" key allowing the weapon to keep both of its existing attack modes, by pressing Iron_Sight the player will go from "Melee Mode" to "Aiming Mode" or vise versa. While in Aiming Mode the weapon will be cocked back ready to throw, done so by pressing "Fire".
  • "Will thrown weapons receive damage bonuses based on berzerker level?"
    • The thrown melee weapon will gain perk benefits from the berzerker perk increasing its dealt damage, possibly how far and how fast it is thrown as well. On top of that a thrown axe has the abilty to stun specimens.
  • "Will you be able to retrieve your thrown weapon?"
    • Thrown weapons will impact specimens, walls, and objects and stick to them much like the crossbow bolt does, allowing it to be picked up apon being touched.
  • "Why throw my weapon when I can just hold on to it and fight?"
    • The damage of a thrown melee weapon will be significantly higher than a regular attack considering the player will have to sacrifice his weapon for that one attack.
    • Players will also be able to hit specimens from a distance, this is good to keep a distance from sirens or to throw an axe at a fleshpound/scrake that is about to kill a teammate to stun it when you are out of melee range.

Throwing Axe Concept

Attacking with multiple weapons for increased damage and speed, allowing a berserker(ONLY) to carry 2 of the same weapon(Machete ONLY). Not quite as good as tier 3 but a good/cheap substitute

That would make the machete not-so obsolete.

Good work.

Debatable. I found it to be like a melee handcannon. It kills clots with greater efficiency and even gorefasts get a lot of pain from it.

I use fireaxe instead of Machete. So I was speaking for myself.

I think think an over-head thrown fireaxe would be axesome.. I mean awesome.

I notice how the throw did nothing to Clot except make him angry.

It really looks cool and is an interesting idea. I got a question though. If you threw a machete would you need to retrieve it from the specimen (or wall if u missed) or would it simply respawn?

It would act like the crossbow bolt, it would stick to the surface untill you grabbed it again

Would you be able to grab others' Machetes?

There should be a mutator, where everyone was berserker, and could only use machete, it should be called:

The Six Macheteers

ps. IS2 suck. (KEEP CRYING BABIES)

Brilliant. As said.

Theres also a very good aiming animation with left hand before Machete throw. Good idea.

Very nicely done.

Very.

Also Axe looks good.

Wow.

Thank you.

Really hope that someday this would be in KF.

!!!!!

That looks SO AWESOME!

Yes, yes, yes to dualwieldable machetes and throwable machetes and axes. Not throwable knife though, since its a spawn weapon and "last resort". Example: If you are out of 9mm, and carry Fire Axe and Machete(s), then throw those, then the Knife is the ONLY weapon you have left and thus should stay in your inventory, as i said, as a last resort.

Anyway, throwable Machetes and Axes makes them SO MUCH more useful! And damage from throwing them should deffo account for Berserker damage in terms of levelling it and getting bonuses for it.

Questions:
* Throwing the Machete and Fire Axe, done with the Ironsight-button, right?
* What about the damage of a thrown weapon? Double? Triple?
* Should the current Machete model be changed to a little bit more "pointy" version so it looks more reasonable that it sticks on the enemy?
* How is the arc? Does it drop rather quickly, in a realistic way? (To not make it a sniper weapon xD)

OMG btw, this is probably one of the coolest things i have seen on these forums so far... i can't believe the awesomeness! Wish i could give you all my daily "pluses" for this!

One more question, do you have an animation when you throw a Machete while dualwielding?

EDIT:
Regarding dualwielding Machete, how about having the primary attack with similar damage, but twice as fast, meaning that you swing one at a time, alternating them? Does that sound good? The powerstrike could be random which one it uses of your 2 ones, and is basicly a Machete's powerstrike with double damage, right?

Yea, I agree. Machete is only good for throwing away. :P

Not sure how implementing a throwing weapon would fit in with the game though. And would it be needed? Are there any other weapons to fulfill that role, or weapons that do it better? Yes, of, course there is. There is Crossbow and Handcannon, both making the throwing weapon obsolete. Besides, you don't lose them after use either. :P

Umm the whole point with the Berserker is to use the Melee weapons. If the Machete(s) and Fire Axe gets a powerful throwing ability on them, then it would be less necessary for a Berserker to use firearms (while firearms will certainly still be helpful, it would be in a much more balanced and less necessary way)

2 more questions:

* On headshots, how will it stick and/or will the head "explode/decap" as normal, or will the head stay on but you still deal "decap" damage and all?
* About the spinning thrown weapon, will it be fast enough so you dont see if you hit the target with the handle of the machete/stick of the axe, but still "magically" attaches with the blade on the enemy?

I think the "broken neck effect" will work awesomely with it.

Imagine a bloat with a machete stuck in his forehead and his head hanging back.
