Kaukasus you mean? If so, you are going to have Sasquatch's permission to do so since its his brainchild. And I'm kinda doubtfull as if the devs team is going to let you.

I start mapping by porting old berlin over, just to annoy those who say it is overplayed (which it is, but I do it anyway!)

Absolutely right, let them ****ing die. Theres no way someone should ever shamelessly port that old glory over without any decent work. Actually don't port them at all..Those maps did great in the mod time but there's a new sheriff in town and its called RO:Ostfront..

or I can just make a completely new one and take the concept and make something new. I wasnt going to port it over since I think its time to lay the old maps to rest.

I totally agree here.. some of the Mod Customs are good for the mod.. but RO:Ostfront really adds alot..
so if you wanna port the level, cool.. but I really encourage anyoen doing so to put some serious elbow grease into it and dress it up to Ostfront standards..

(something I plan on attempting to do with VolkhovRiver41.

Drax is totally right.

There's so much new stuff, it'd be a shame to just "port" the map over without giving a thorough - and possibly ground-up - overhaul.

After having seen the RO:O stuff firsthand, it makes me want to delete my old maps. There's so much new art, new features, new vehicles - it's a waste to just "port" something, because going back and forth between new RO:O maps and old mod maps is like going from HDTV to a 5" black and white TV.

Besides, I've got new ideas that need execution and lots of time.

Anything other than the old one is fine by me. I'm so sick of that map.
