One of the main inconveniences of RO:Ost and its mods is simply having to specifically start up one of the mods to play them. Rather than simply being able to select where to play right away from one server browser.
Now I'm not specifically suggesting RS to not have its own designed main menu and stuff. But rather allow players to play RS and HOS games from both the RS and HOS server browser without having to quit either game. So that through a filter in the server browser menu players can join both RS games and HOS games on the fly. For something like this to get added, its likely that the addition of this functionality must be planned early in the development process before it becomes impossible to add something like this. And perhaps cooperation with TWI is needed on it. But both the RS and HOS community (and other mods) will benefit from being able to join servers from one central server browser.

+1 for this idea of course.
![]() I'd like to see separate tabs for the different mods. So one tab lists all the HOS servers, and the others list the mod servers. That is assuming that there will be no servers that run both HOS and RS. If the player doesn't have mods installed, the tabs are grayed out. If he clicks on one of the tabs, a page will show up with the text "You currently do not have Rising Storm installed. It's fun, so click here to open your browser and download it!" coupled with a nice screenshot or artwork pic of the mod and a link to the mod website. The server list is still visible for all mods, but you won't be able to join any of them if you don't have them installed. |

It'd help a lot cause you don't have to bind all your keys (if you're a person who does that like me). One thing though, you should be able to change the menu backround, so people who favor RS more, would be able to have some fancy RS backround... Kinda like garrys mod. I just find it odd. Think about it, you start up RO2, intending to fight some japs, and in the backround you have some Russian and German stuff. Or you can just make it universal...

Would be most excellent Rufus. The current state of Ostfront shows the pitfalls of mods: the community fragments into smaller pieces of the already not that huge playerbase.

That..would be awesome!
+1While switching between the games I would like to hear a different background song & see an other wallpaper or something so we can see the difference very easily.

And custom menu music
I don't see why this couldn't be done since World in Conflict already did this.

It is a nice idea.
I am not sure if Steam is still like this, but I think they had the right idea. You use to be able to see all the servers up for all games. Something similar for RO2 would be nice, except for all RO2 versions/mods. If there are substantial changes, then the server browser can just show the servers that are up, and when you click on it, it will exit HoS and automatically load up the mod the server is running. |
