Default It just occured to me.

This just occured to me, but last night I was playing Normal Bloat-ed on West London. I was attempting to level up SS until I got bored and switched to Firebug. As I was spraying down the Bloats with the Flamethrower I realized how fast Firebug was leveling. It just leveled faster then everything else and the fire kept me entertained. Any comments?

This should occur to you:

Everybody knows what this bloat-ed powerlevelling thing is all about and It's heavily frowned upon. I suggest you actually play properly online with other people and learn how to play the game. Just because you found out how all the perk-grinders level up their firebug doesn't make you better than any other players. A lot of people are on high levels and they don't know the first thing about the one of the most popular door-welding strategies on the 2nd floor of the KF-Offices map.

Play properly and get real skill. Levels don't mean skill. I only have 3 perks on level 6 and I've been playing for over a year and I understand all the good and bad points and recommended strategies of all perks and all official Tripwire maps.

I really do get annoyed by all perk-grinders because they seemingly all forget that, for example, Level 6 sharpshooter Isn't a skilled position, nor did it take skill to "acheive".

Old news is old..

This has been known since release, and people took advantage of it even more before the white list with things like the stalker mutator.

Also Beginner Poundamonium is probably one of the most popular server types.

I've killed 3000 stalkers on public servers and 600 on kf-survival... is that good or bad?

And fill out the damage requirements for every other perk besides Medic. Medic can be used to level Zerker with bloated, because of the armor bonus and bloat bile reduction. So yeah..

Perks don't generally take much skill to progress unfortunately.

I prefer that over doing those hilariously over-specific, sometimes near impossible achievements you have to do to get weapons in tf2.
Well at least it used to be that way.

Thats why Ive been saying that leveling up should be tied on achievements, at least partially.

For the Berserker it would be:

Kill X number of scrakes using the chainsaw -> Bitter Irony

Finish X number of fleshpounds using a melee weapon -> Too Close for Comfort

Kill X amount of specimens with the fire axe on single wave -> Random Axe of Kindness

Each achievement could be worth one third of a level, which means we would need more achievements ofc. In addition to that we could have just the simple "Do X amount of damage with your main weapons" too, but in reduced form.

But then again, everyone would just do these in beginner. Maybe, youd have to do all these in every difficulty? But they would still award some points every time.

You really wanna kill X fleshpounds on suicidal with your knife to level up your berserker perk or kill the patriarch with a bullpup 10 times while in mid air for the commando?

Power leveling servers are bad already but power leveling is something you can do on your own.
Now tf2-esque achievement farming servers, do we really want those instead?

Maybe they can be used to level up faster, a bonus so you can choose to kill your 3000 stalkers OR kill the patriarch with a bullpup while in mid air, but not as the only possibility to level up.

I don't really wanna have commandos shoot the patriarch with bullpups while bunny hopping though.
Or berserkers attacking pounds with the knife just to get the achievement.
Or generally, players being in the way, doing whatever stupid requirement that stupid achievement has, possibly barking at you for helping them and killing that pound, shooting the patriarch with normal guns or generally, playing the game like a normal person would play it.

I hate achievement whores who have to be pricks about it already, let's not encourage that kind of behaviour by giving achievements an actual benefit. They're not even that good of a measurement for "skill" anyway.

Bloat take extra damage from fire.
Husk take less damage from fire.

Totally dude..I still only have like 50 out of the 300 uber something achievements.

On another note, when I first started KF, I tried Bloat-ed with a lvl 2 SS. Needless to say, I died.

play game proper,
you'll gain waaaaay more actual kf experience that way and feel like you have actually achieved something when you level up
