I start RO from steam and the pic of the german dude comes, then this error:
Build RedOrchestra_Build_[2005-11-27_10.48] OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600) CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 2012 MHz with 1023MB RAM Video: No Video Can't find file for package 'D3D9Drv' History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free ? |

Go to your RedOrchestra.ini and find:
[Engine.Engine] ;RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice Now change that into: [Engine.Engine] RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice ;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice I hope it works!

After about 15 seconds in any practice map (Leapfrog in this instance) the game either crashes to the desktop or forces a restart. I posted this on Steam, but I figured I'd try it here as well in hopes of an answer.
My redorchestra.log file: OK, well it won't allow that. ![]() Getting close to requesting a refund....... |

Found your topic thread on fixes. Tried #2 and it worked fine. Had a clan member with the same problem and it fixed his as well. Thanks. Will note that the "report bug" option does not seem to work.

I get the same error message when trying to load up the game. I deleted my local content and redownloaded (fun) but that didn't reset it either. I will try the fix suggested above when I get home.
The real reason for me posting here was to duplicate the comment that hitting the "Report Bug" does not work--takes you to a dead url. |
